Washington County Enterprise-Leader
James Robert Thomas
James Robert “Bob” Thomas, 70, passed away at home in Carrollton, Texas, Monday,
Oct. 9, 2017, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Fayetteville, Ark., to James and Bernice Thomas.
As soon as he could get his mother to sign the form (Bob was only 20), he married his high school girlfriend, Nancey Curtsinger on Aug. 27, 1967, at the Methodist church in Prairie Grove, Ark. They celebrated their 50th anniversary this year.
While his working experience has spanned from Air Force through a career doing computer analysis, he was proudest of his family. He dedicated his life to ensuring his family and friends came first before any other commitments. Whether it was sports or hobbies, he was always leading and participating in his sons’ activities. You could count on him to be at every game helping the team. With retirement from his career, he and Nancey had the time to spend either driving the roads or cruising the seas of North America (If you could get him away from his much loved garden and dogs).
He was preceded in death by his sister, Margie Foren.
He is survived by his wife, Nancey Thomas; the families of sons, James, Lance, and Andrew Thomas, including grandchildren, Luke, Lucy, Andy, and Belle Thomas; and his sister, Shirley Schlegel.
Cherish those you have in your life, because you never know when God will need them back.
Rhoton Funeral Home of Carrollton, Texas, was in charge of arrangements.
