Travis Lee Cheney, 76, of Fayettevil­le, Ark., passed away Wednesday Oct. 18, 2017, in Fayettevil­le. He was born July 23, 1941, in Jenny, Ark., the son of Lee and Lorena Thomas Cheney.

He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. He retired from St. Louis Southweste­rn Cotton Belt Railroad company where he worked as a conductor. He was a member of Farmington United Methodist Church and was a charter member of the Road Hog Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Cheney; two sons, Tim Cheney and his wife Tracey and Tommy Cheney and his wife Kathy all of Fayettevil­le; five grandchild­ren, Tye, Tripp, Trapper, Savannah and Kade Cheney all of Fayettevil­le; one sister, Madaline Burgess of Pratsville, Ark.; two brothers, John L. Cheney of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Horace Cheney of Bastrop, La.; one nephew, Dr. James Burgess of Russellvil­le, Ark.; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebratio­n of life was held Sunday, Oct. 22 at the Road Hog Park. Casual attire as well as Razorback apparel was encouraged to be worn in his honor.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Razorback Foundation, Farmington Methodist Church or Hope Cancer Resources.
