Masonic Lodge Presents Highest Honor

-

Occidental Masonic Lodge recently presented the “Pillar of Solomon Award” to Brother Don Pinkley of Prairie Grove for the 2017 Masonic year. The presentation took place at the Lodge located at 114 N. Mock, Prairie Grove. Brother Don is a member of Occidental Lodge and has served in the Lodge for many years.

The “Pillar of Solomon Award” is established by the Grand Lodge of Arkansas to provide recognition to Master Masons for their outstanding service to the Lodge. The award is presented annually to a Brother Mason who has contributed to the success and well-being of the Lodge. The man receiving this award has demonstrated through his conduct and actions during the preceding years his dedication and willingness to serve not only his Lodge but the Craft in general and the community in which he lives.

Through this award, the Lodge honors Brother Don as a valued member of the Lodge. It goes without saying that the “Pillar of Solomon Award” is without doubt, the highest honor any Mason, in any Lodge can ever receive.

The award is a medallion cast of solid bronze, as were the pillars of the porch of King Solomon’s Temple. The medallion is suspended on a ribbon of purple and white. The purple denotes it is a Grand Lodge Award. The white represents the lambskin apron, the badge of a Mason. The wreath that surrounds the pillars denotes unselfish service, the purest form of service given to a man.

Brother Don has worked for years in the Lodge and community to make it a better place to live and enjoy. His service embodies the goal of the Lodge, “To take good men and make them better.”
