Warren LaVerne Bevier

Warren LaVerne Bevier, 84, of Prairie Grove, Ark., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, at his home. He was born April 30, 1933, in Weld County, Colo., the son of Lawrence Warren Bevier and Mildred (Rundall) Bevier.

He was a past Elder of the Prairie Grove Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Vivian Sweeney and Evelyn Ginther; three brothers, Louis Bevier, Norman Bevier and Kenneth Bevier; his daughter, Michele Bevier; and one great-grandson, Logan Leftwich.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Marjorie Pearl Hawks Bevier; three daughters, Kathleen Alumbaugh and husband Don of Mound City, Kan., Jana Nichols and husband Tom and Julie Grey all of Prairie Grove; his sister, Lurline Rossiter and husband Bob of San Marcos, Calif.; three grandchild­ren, Brian James Gilhousen and wife Cayce, Andrew Bevier Schafer and Kailie Renee Schafer; one great-granddaugh­ter, Macie Grace Leftwich; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at Prairie Grove Christian Church in Prairie Grove. Burial was in the Prairie Grove Cemetery and no graveside services were held.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Prairie Grove Christian Church or Prairie Grove Senior Center (Meals on Wheels).

Cecil “Pete” Glenn

Cecil “Pete” Glenn, 80, of Springdale, Ark., died Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, at his home. He was born March 8, 1937, in Prairie Grove, Ark., to Elmer and Mamie Ralston Glenn, and grew up in Farmington.

He invested in others and loved to build relationsh­ips. He was a longtime, active member of Phillips Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, and enjoyed golfing and time in the outdoors. Above all he was devoted to God, his family and church.

He is survived by his wife, Imogene (Self) Glenn, whom he married April 24, 1959, in Springdale; two sons, Randy Glenn and wife Amy, Doug Glenn and wife Kim; and four grandchild­ren, Caleb, Sarah, John and Rachel, all of Springdale.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, John and Robert Glenn; and four sisters, Dorothy Rosebury, Louise Arney, Wilma Mounce and Barb Shepherd.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Phillips Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with interment at Friendship Cemetery. Memorial contributi­ons may be made for the building fund at the church, 3074 S. 48th St., Springdale, AR 72762.

Bobby Darrell Green

Bobby Darrell Green, 70, of Watts, Okla., passed away Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, in Watts. He was born March 17, 1947, in Morrow, Ark., the son of Cyrus and Jeanette Green.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his daughter, Tina Green Hockenberr­y and husband Tim; his son, Darin Green; four grandchild­ren, Ryan, Nick, and Cory Hockenberr­y and Jaylin Green; five brothers and sisters, Betty Green, Kenneth Green, Dennis Green, Linda Hassell and Randy Green; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Luginbuel Funeral Home on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, from 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in the Cox Cemetery in Morrow, there will be no graveside services held.

William Van Shaffer

William Van Shaffer, 65, of Prairie Grove, Ark., passed away Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, in Siloam Springs, Ark. He was born April 13, 1952, in Alameda, Calif., the son of Donald Leo and Treva (Luther) Shaffer.

Survivors include his son, William “Van” Shaffer II and wife Kira Lynn of Las Vegas, Nev.; his mother, Treva Mae Shaffer; one granddaugh­ter, Caitlin Shaffer; and his loving companion, Laura Chandler.

Judith Ann Walker

Judith (Judi) Ann Walker, 63, of Fayettevil­le, Ark., passed away peacefully at her home Friday Nov. 17, 2017, in Fayettevil­le. She was born Feb. 5, 1954, in Hinsdale, Ill., the daughter of Charles Lester and Helen Catherine Meyer Callentine.

She embraced and loved life, her family and her friends. She loved children, especially playing with and teaching her grandson,

Aiden, and her granddaugh­ter, Emerie. She was proud of her 20 years directing Fayettevil­le’s Community Preschool.

She loved outdoor adventures. She loved books and for 30 years she discussed books and authors with her book group members. She loved music, dancing with delight to live music, and playing the ukulele and singing with her ukulele group. She loved learning about the world’s cuisines, cooking and sharing food with members of her internatio­nal supper club. She was a committed Weight Watcher member and leader.

The family thanks everyone who helped them during Judi’s illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Tom Callentine of Springdale, Ark.

She is survived by her sailing and soulmate husband Johnny Walker; a son, Kyle Berry of Lowell, Ark.; a daughter, Shawna McFatrich and her husband Larry of Farmington, Ark.; a stepdaught­er, Sacha Walker of Chicago, Ill.; one sister, Livit Callentine of Maui, Hawaii; a brother, John Callentine and his wife Deb of Tucson, Ariz.; one grandson, Aiden; one granddaugh­ter, Emerie; a niece, Sara Sprague; and nephew, Zach Hudson.

A Memorial service was held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Tuesday, Nov. 21.

Jerry L. Webb

Jerry L. Webb, 68, of Cookson, Okla., passed away Nov. 25, 2017, at Willard Walker Hospice in Fayettevil­le, Ark. He was born March 13, 1949, in Fayettevil­le, Ark., the son of Myron Russel (Pete) and Dorothy White Webb.

He attended Prairie Grove School as a young man and was in several activities while attending. Playing football for Prairie Grove High School was one of his greatest memories as a young man. A very short time after graduating high school he was enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1968, and the Vietnam War was taking place at this time. He was sent to Vietnam to serve his country in 1969. He returned to the United States from Vietnam in winter of 1970, and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in July of 1971. As a retired Vietnam Veteran racing horses was a great hobby where he trained quarter horses that broke track records in Sallisaw and Oklahoma City, Okla. and Kansas City, Kan.

He was a very experience­d outdoorsma­n hunting whitetail and mule deer, elk, moose and antelope. He was a proud sponsor of the NRA and enjoyed all types of guns. Quail and pheasant hunting were his favorite types of hunting and he kept some of the finest trained bird dogs for the sport. He also was a bull rider with the IPRA where he rode in the rodeo circuit with several famous people that are in the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame today. He raised dairy cattle and was named #1 Grade A dairy farm in the state of Arkansas for 10 years in a row, and milking three times a day for two of those years, and producing more milk with 60 head of cattle than most could produce with 120 head of dairy cows. He installed the first computer feed system in the state of Arkansas and was named the #1 dairy farmer by Purina Feeds, and raised turkeys for Cargill while doing all that. He had many wonderful friends throughout his life that cared for him deeply, and he cherished every moment that he had with all of them.

He was preceded in death by Clyde and Melba Ross and his birth parents, Myron Russel (Pete) Webb & Dorothy Louise White Webb.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Webb of Prairie Grove, Ark.; three sons, Brian Webb of Fayettevil­le, Colburn Webb of Lincoln, Ark., and Gregg Holiday of Huntsville, Ark.; two daughters-in-law, Jessica Webb of Lincoln and Donna Holiday of Huntsville; six grandchild­ren, Hollie, Kinley and Cody Webb of Lincoln, Ashley and B.J. Kirk of Prairie Grove and Gregg Caldwell of Rogers, Ark.; two great-grandchild­ren, Ryder and Abby Kate Kirk of Prairie Grove; sister, Jean Ann Fulbright, brother-inlaw, Nick Sesso, nephew, Tony Sesso and niece, Kelli Walker all of Flint Ridge, Kansas, Okla.; brother, Joe Ross of Prairie Grove; sister-in-law, Shirley Ross of Prairie Grove; niece, Karen Taylor of Prairie Grove.

Family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6-7 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at Luginbuel Chapel. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Fayettevil­le.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been set up at Arvest Bank under the name Colburn Webb Memorial Account.
