Carolyn Marie Hoffman Rymel, 72, of Springdale, Ark., passed away Jan. 9, 2018. She was born Jan. 31, 1945, in Oakland, Calif., to Carl David and Lily Mae Hoffman.

Prior to moving to Arkansas in 1982, she lived her life in South Lake Tahoe, Calif., where she dealt Blackjack at Harvey’s Casino. She loved to travel, loved camping, racing jeeps, and was on her high school snow skiing team. She was an avid genealogis­t, a long-time Marion Chapter DAR member and officer and was a member of Cross Church in Springdale. She was a wonderful wife and mother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Dale Rymel and her parents.

Survivors include one son, Troy Cannon and wife Roma of Old Forge, Pa.; three daughters, Traci Cannon Whitehead and husband Stephen of Lowell, Ark., Tina Cannon Thomas of Lincoln, Ark., and Debra Rymel Holloway and husband Kendall of Bethel Heights, Ark.; two sisters, Janette Catalano of Lexington, S.C., and Elaine Hoffman Compton of Carrollton, Texas; eight grandchild­ren, Katie Koscheski, Megan Jennings, Mathew Thomas, Sarah Thomas, Kennith Holloway, Kassandra Holloway, Seth Whitehead, and Braxdon Cannon; two great-grandchild­ren, Brantley Reeves and Weston Koscheski; one stepson, Dwayne Rymel and wife Teresa; four step-grandchild­ren; and two step-great-grandchild­ren.

Services were held Jan. 13, 2018, at Sisco Chapel in Springdale. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in her memory to Arkansas Alzheimer’s Associatio­n, 201 Markham Center Drive, Little Rock, AR 72205.
