Gail Dean Davis Sr., 77, of Prairie Grove, Ark., passed away Thurs­day, Feb. 22, 2018, at the Veter­ans Hos­pi­tal in Fayetteville,


He was born Nov. 4, 1940, in Big Springs, Neb., the son of Paul C. and Mil­dred Vivine (Smith) Davis. He served in the United States Air Force dur­ing the Viet­nam Era. He had vol­un­teered at the Veter­ans Hos­pi­tal for 12 years.

He was pre­ceded in death by his mother, Mil­dred Vivine Smith; step­fa­ther, Cleo D. Cowart; sis­ter, Joyce Davis; and his bi­o­log­i­cal fa­ther, Paul C. Davis.

Sur­vivors in­clude his wife, Lois Irene Davis; three sons, Gail Dean Davis Jr. and wife JoAnne of Amer­i­can Canyon, Calif.; Mark D. Davis and wife Mary Anna of Prairie Grove and Michael D. Li­zotte and wife Marnie Abra­ham­son of St. Ge­orge, Utah; one daugh­ter, Terri Davis and hus­band Ed­die of Prairie Grove; seven grand­chil­dren, Joshua Davis, Stephen Davis, Cather­ine Davis, Aaron Davis, Makayla Davis, Maisy Davis, and Madi­son Davis.

The fam­ily re­ceived friends Mon­day evening from 6-8 p.m. at Lug­in­buel Fu­neral Home.

Fu­neral ser­vice was held at 10 a.m. Tues­day, Feb. 27, 2018, at the Church of Je­sus Christ of Lat­ter Day Saints in Prairie Grove. Burial fol­lowed with mil­i­tary honors at the Na­tional Ceme­tery in Fayetteville.
