Daisy Dean Cal­ico De­laney

Daisy Dean Cal­ico De­laney, 95, of Man­teca, Calif., passed away on Feb. 22, 2018, at home where she resided with her daugh­ter and son-in-law.

She was born in Clifty, Ark., to John Calvin Cal­ico and Tenny Bell Mun­dell Cal­ico on June 11, 1922. She at­tended school in a one-room school­house in Clifty and worked on the fam­ily farm with her fa­ther and brothers. She moved to South­ern Cal­i­for­nia in 1946 and later lived in Barstow, Calif., for 29 years be­fore mov­ing to Man­teca five years ago. She worked in food ser­vice for schools and hos­pi­tals for 30 years. She was a Chris­tian since an early age. She en­joyed cook­ing and em­broi­der­ing and loved her fam­ily most of all.

She was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents and her six brothers, Arvel Cal­ico, Theodore Cal­ico, Jewel Cal­ico, Otto Cal­ico, Oval Cal­ico, Jack Cal­ico; a daugh­ter, Carmelita Ann Fitch; and her hus­band, Jack De­laney.

She is sur­vived by her two sons, Gene Fitch (Patt) of Prairie Grove, Ark., and Jerry Wasser­man (Gin­ger) of Ap­ple Val­ley, Calif.; two daugh­ters, Norma Faye Clark (Paul) of Bar­ren Springs, Va., and Shirley Hausa­fus (Robert) of Man­teca; two step­sons, Tim Yea­ger and Jim Bow­man; 12 grand­chil­dren; 31 great-grand­chil­dren; and 10 great-great-grand­chil­dren.

Fu­neral ser­vice was held Sat­ur­day, March 3, at Mead Mor­tu­ary, 36930 Ir­win Rd, Barstow, CA 92311. Burial fol­lowed at Pomona Ceme­tery and Mau­soleum in Pomona, Calif.
