Don’t Stop Laughing
Tuesday was George and Lorene Schooler’s anniversary and they shared a big cake with all those in the Lincoln Center, in celebration. All of our best wishes for this special couple, with many more to come.
It was also another fun day with the Kitchen Band, and some special fun was enjoyed as George tried to explain some jokes to those of us who “just didn’t get it.” This group believes in the saying: “You don’t stop laughing because you grow old, you grow old because you stopped laughing.” Then too, consider Proverbs 7:22, “A merry heart doth good like a medicine.”
Daylight saving time begins this Sunday, March 11, time to set our clocks ahead one hour Saturday night, to be sure, else you might think it is 6 and too early to get up, but it will really be 7, time to hurry or be late for church.
Cookie exchange meeting in the library is next Monday, March 12, at 1 p.m. so take a favorite recipe to share, and you might find one that “hits the spot.”
How about this rain that we really had needed! Though it was way too much in places, with flooding and damaged roads, it came in time to start a good Spring growth. The fields, seemingly over-night, are now green instead of the dreary tan of the past month.
I enjoyed watching two great-grandsons, as they helped their dad and granddad check the pastures and cows. They sloshed through every puddle (good thing they had boots on) and when they rode the four wheeler they hit the middle of all those puddles. When we have another dry spell, those boys will remember the fun they had when it did rain.
Happy birthday to Peggy Curtis, Dick Bradley, Lonnie Shannon, Dalton Brunner, Charlie Pitts, Myrtle Ray, Ronnie Chambliss, Johnnny Chambliss, Lisa Rawls, Robin George.
Happy anniversary to Dustin and Tiffany Long, Barry and Nicole Evans.
Happy years, all!
“You don’t stop laughing because you grow old, you grow old because you stopped laughing.”
