Arlis Roland Wages, 84, passed away on Tues­day, March 13, 2018, at Wil­lard Walker Hospice in Fayet­teville, Ark.

He was born on June 5, 1933, in Wit­ter, Ark., to Mack E. and Ivy “Pearl” Bolinger Wages.

He was a man of God. Sec­ond to his re­la­tion­ship with the Lord was his fam­ily. He was a won­der­ful hus­band, fa­ther, grand­fa­ther and great-grand­fa­ther. He loved driv­ing trucks for a liv­ing and started his ca­reer at the age of 17. He mar­ried Betty at the age of 19 when she was only 15 years old. He was the most lov­ing, kind and com­pas­sion­ate man with the big­gest heart.

He was pre­ceded in death by his lov­ing wife of 62 years, Betty Mead­ows Wages; and his sis­ter, Emily John­son.

He is sur­vived by his two daugh­ters, Linda Mitchell and hus­band Gay­lon of Farm­ing­ton, Ark., and Carla Brewster and hus­band Jim of Neosho, Mo.; his four sib­lings, Dar­rell Wages, Don­nie Wages, Lon­nie Wages, and June Grayson; four grand­chil­dren, Sherry Gar­ri­son, Misty Mitchell, Sam Brewster and J.J. Brewster; and five great-grand­chil­dren, Abi­gail Roberts, Lance Gar­ri­son, Hunter Brewster, Kaylee Brewster, and Woodrow Brewster.

Funeral ser­vice was held Satur­day, March 17, at Nel­son-Berna Funeral Home in Fayet­teville. In­ter­ment fol­lowed at Pa­trick Ceme­tery in Combs, Ark.
