Lincoln Boys Claim District Championsh­ip

GRAVETTE — The Lincoln Junior High boys track and field team claimed first place among team standings during the 4A-1 Junior High Conference meet hosted by Gravette Thursday.

Lincoln accumulate­d 128 total points to beat out second place Pea Ridge which finished with 124 points. Shiloh Christian was third with 90 while Gentry and Berryville tied for fourth with 70 points apiece. Prairie Grove was sixth with 69 points; Gravette, seventh with 53; and Huntsville eighth with 16.

Lincoln freshman Eli Rich, son of track and field coach Tim Rich, won the highpoint honors for boys. Eli Rich placed first in the high jump (5-05.00); first in long jump (19-06.50); third in triple jump (37-06.75); fourth in the 200 meter (25.82); fifth in the 100 meter (12.98); and was part of Lincoln’s 4x100 relay team that placed fifth. He anchored a quartet that included: Blake Albright, Daytin Davis, and Rafeal Regalado. Gentry’s 4x100 relay team was disqualifi­ed on an exchange of the baton.

Lincoln won the 4x800 relay with a time of 9:44.26 posted by Caden Redfern, Ash Campbell, Regalado, and Caleb Mathews. Mathews ran second for Lincoln in the 800 meter with a time of 2:26.25. Mathews (5:25.04) placed third in the 1600 meter. Redfern (2:26.69)was third in the 800. Campbell placed 18th in the 800 with a time of 2:48.41.

Lincoln boasted two top 10 finishes in the 400 meter. Davis (59.74) ran sixth; and Regalado (1:01.74) was eighth. The Wolves also had two place among the top 10 in the 110 meter hurdles: Davis was second in 19.90. Albright placed sixth in 20.52. Albright took third in the 300 hurdles with a time of 49.44.

The 4x400 relay team of Regalado, Albright, Redfern, and Davis placed third in 4:10.56.

Besides Rich, Redfern, third with a distance of 5-02.00; and Davis, fifth with a leap of 5-00.00, placed among the top 10 in the high jump.

The junior Wolves scored points in pole vault competitio­n with freshman Connor Schork reaching 8-00.00 to place fifth. Davis placed sixth in the long jump with 17-01.75; and Campbell was 23rd for Lincoln with a distance of 14-07.50.

Triple jump action saw Redfern come in eighth by jumping 33-08.00.

In shot-put, second place belonged to Levi Wright (41-11.00); and third place to Kris Martinez (38-02.50). In 15th place throwing the shot-put was Audie Ramsey (31-06.75); with Lucas Brent Guinn, of Gentry, placing 18th with a throw of 29-02.00; and in 22nd place Hunter Combes, of Lincoln, with a throw of 24-02.50.

Martinez also placed eighth in discus with a throw of 91-00. Finishing ninth was Wright for Lincoln in 87-01. Ramsey was 11th with a throw of 84-04. In 16th place for Gentry was Lucas Brent Guinn (68-08); with Combes placing 20th for Lincoln with a distance of 60-02.

GIRLS

The Lincoln girls finished eighth in team rankings. They scored 8 points among 16 events scored. Lincoln’s 4x400 relay team placed fifth, the best placing for the junior Wolves with a time of 5:04.74. The team included: Keara Wallace, Katie Jones, Destinee Rochier, and Jocelyn Watts.

Nailing down sixth place in long jump was Landree Cunningham reaching 14-02.50. Placing 22nd was Jones with a distance of 12-00.50. In 24th place was Destinee Rochier (12-00.00).

In high jump, Wallace placed eighth by reaching 4-04.00 while Cunningham cleared 4-00.00 to place 11th.

Watts placed 10th in discus with a toss of 50-11.50. She placed 11th in the shotput throw by reaching mark of 20-10.00.

Running the 800 meter were: Watts, 10th in 2:56.32; and Wallace, 12th in 3:01.40.

Triple jump competitor­s placing for Lincoln included: Cunningham (24-07.50) 11th; Wallace (23-05.75) 15th; and Rochier. a

Cunningham ran 21st in the 100 meter with a time of 15.74. In 23rd place was Jones (16.45). Cunningham ran the 200 meter in 31.94, placing 12th. Lincoln was represente­d in the 400 meter races by Rochier, 13th in 1:18.44; and Jones, 16th in 1:19.74.
