Lena Alene Richards Gurney, 75, of Farmington, Ark., moved to her eternal Heavenly Home on May 8, 2018, peacefully with her daughter and son-in-law by her side at their home where she had lived for the past five years.

She was born Sept. 25, 1942, in Hagarville, Ark., the daughter of Leonard and Sylvia Richards.

She was always putting others first. She was very selfless and giving, regardless of her own needs. She volunteere­d for several years at the Salvation Army. She was very active with her church and loved to crochet. She had a strong Faith and loved her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Summers, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ralph Gurney; both parents; one brother, Kelvin Richards; and one sister, Sharren Richards.

She is survived by her daughter, Paula Beard and husband Danny of Farmington; a son, Arron Gurney and wife Betty of Mabelvale, Ark.; one sister, Normaline Crow of Fort Smith, Ark.; two brothers, Lawrence Richards and wife Wilma of Clarksvill­e, Ark., and Clarence Richards of Cedarville, Ark.; four grandchild­ren, Matthew Beard, Stephen Beard, Zachary Gurney and Christophe­r Gurney; one great-grandchild, Alex Gurney; and several nieces, nephews and great friends.

A funeral service was held Friday, May 11, at Moore’s Chapel. Burial was in Farmington Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 643, Lincoln, AR 72744.
