CANE HILL
Leach Grocery Store Celebration
Historic Cane Hill will sponsor a National Register Celebration for R. L. Leach Grocery Store, 11 a.m. to
2 p.m., Saturday, June 9. The store, named to the National Register of Historic Places earlier this year, is located in Dutch Mills. The celebration will include free food, drinks, ice cream and live music. There will be a traditional Leach Store bologna sandwich with all the fixins’ available.
FARMINGTON
Strategic Planning Meeting The city of Farmington will have a public meeting to get input from citizens on a new strategic plan for the city for the next 5-10 years. City officials and staff have been meeting about the plan and now want public comments and ideas. The meeting will be 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, June 2, at City Hall on Main Street.
Odds-N-Ends Sale Farmington United Methodist Women will hold an odd-n-ends sale and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, June 1, and from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, June 2, at the church, located at the corner of Southwinds Drive and Highway 170. Proceeds will benefit UMS missions.
All-Class School Reunion Farmington’s annual all-class reunion will be 3-6 p.m., June 9, at the new Farmington High School, 12327 N. Highway 170. Finger foods are appreciated. Chamber Golf Tournament Farmington Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor its Joe Bailey Memorial Golf Tournament, Thursday, June 21 at Stonebridge Meadows Golf Club in Fayetteville. Team entry fee is $320 for four-person teams. Prizes will be given for several items, including longest drive and closest to pin. PRAIRIE GROVE
Friends Of Prairie Grove Pound
Bluewinkle Berry Farm will donate proceeds from the sale of blackberries and several types of plants to help raise money for a new cat building for Friends of Prairie Grove Pound. The farm will donate $1 for every pound of blackberries picked to the Friends. Also, blackberry, blueberry, raspberry and honeyberry plants in gallon containers will be for sale at the farm for $10 each and of this, $5 will go to the Friends. All berries at the farm are organically grown. The farm is located at 10974 Ravenwood Road in Prairie Grove. You-pick hours are: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Call 846-6030 for more information.
