PRAIRIE GROVE — Downtown Prairie Grove has a new boutique and Kyle and Sarah Stokes named it after a fictitious store from their child’s imaginative playtime.

Junk Pink, located at 121 E. Buchanan St., opened May 12 and offers boutique clothing for all sizes, home goods and gifts.

The couple’s daughter, Claire Stokes, had a fictitious store she called “Junk Pink.” When deciding on a name for their new store, Sarah said Junk Pink was the obvious choice.

“We knew we had to bring her idea to life,” Sarah Stokes said.

Sarah teaches clogging in Prairie Grove and the studio had outgrown its space. At the same time, she said she sews and has always loved home goods and decorating.

She put her two interests and talents together and when the location became available, she and her husband decided “to jump on it.” The space previously was occupied by the business, Wild West Emporium.

The store is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. The back area of the store is used as Sarah’s clogging studio.

Junk Pink has boutique clothing that includes tops with the popular “cold shoulder,” kimonos, distressed caps and tunics. Unique gifts and home items include picture frames, jewelry, hair bows, wall decorations, signs and sayings and kitchen items.
