Carolyn Flora Grif­fin, 89, of Evansville, Ark., passed away Sun­day, June 3, 2018.

She was born Nov. 13, 1928, in Wol­cott, N.Y., the daugh­ter of Thorn and Iva Robert­son How­land. She mar­ried J.H. Grif­fin on June 27, 1947, and later moved to Evansville in 1951. She was a mem­ber of the Evansville Church. She at­tended Quilt­ing at Evansville and vol­un­teered at Grace Place in Lin­coln.

She was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents; her hus­band, J.H. Grif­fin; son, Ja­son Grif­fin; grand­son, Michael Se­ward; four brothers; and one sis­ter.

Sur­vivors in­clude four chil­dren, Cindy Se­ward of Dutch Mills, Ark., Joseph H Grif­fin III and wife Carol of Rich­mond Hill, Ga., Thorne Grif­fin and wife Belva of Evansville, and Jan Wil­hite and hus­band Roger of Stil­well, Okla.; one brother, Low­ell How­land of Stil­well; nine grand­chil­dren, Sean Se­ward, Jolene, Joyce and Joseph IV Grif­fin, Jef­frey Grif­fin, Teresa Wal­ters, Nathon Grif­fin, Chereen Akin and Nikita Hum­ming­bird; 14 great-grand­chil­dren; and one great-great-grand­child.

The fam­ily will re­ceive friends from 6-7 p.m Thurs­day, June 7, 2018, at Lug­in­buel Fu­neral Home.

Fu­neral ser­vice will be held at 10 a..m. Fri­day, June 8, 2018, at the Evansville Com­mu­nity Church with burial in the Academy Ceme­tery, there will be no grave­side ser­vice held.

Lug­in­buel Fu­neral Home of Prairie Grove, Ark., is in charge of ar­range­ments. she made many won­der­ful friends. She loved to be out­side. She en­joyed sitting on the porch or on her fa­vorite bench in her flower gar­den with a glass of iced tea or cof­fee while watch­ing and lis­ten­ing to the birds. She was a very car­ing and lov­ing wife, mother, grand­mother, daugh­ter, sis­ter, aunt and friend who gave ev­ery­one in her life un­con­di­tional love and sup­port.

She was pre­ceded in death by her father, Wil­lie Day; her grand­mother, Altha Craw­ley; and her grand­fa­ther, Ar­ley Brooks.

She is sur­vived by her hus­band, Ron­nie Miller; mother, Irene Day; sis­ters, Sharon Lewis and Wil­lene Strick­land; brother, Don­nie Day; son, Ron­nie Dale Miller; daugh­ter, Chan­dra Miller-Starks; son-in-law Aaron Starks; two grand­chil­dren, whom she loved so very, very much, Cora and Alden Starks; and many cousins, nieces, neph­ews and friends.

Fu­neral ser­vice was held at 10 a.m. Mon­day, June 4, 2018, at Lug­in­buel Chapel in Prairie Grove. Burial was in the Na­tional Ceme­tery in Fayet­teville. No grave­side ser­vice held.

Friends and fam­ily are in­vited to rem­i­nisce about Carolyn af­ter the ser­vice at her mother, Irene Day’s house at 701 E. Parks St. in Prairie Grove.
