Lincoln Senior Center To Hold A Garage Sale This Weekend

- MARIE ROY WCN Columnist

Remember the garage sale in the Lincoln Senior Center this weekend, June 28-30, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday. There is always a huge house full of real bargains. Proceeds go to Meals on Wheels and other center expenses. So, do a good deed by helping the center’s activities and take advantage of some good bargains.

When I cut the frozen, dead stalks from the hydrangeas I wondered if they would ever be as beautiful again as they had been for years. (They were frozen back to the ground.) Now, they are growing into another bush as the older one had always been. The newer one that spread out, is coming back as a huge compact bush like the other one. The one that I thought was dead, is also alive and growing, as is the smaller one. I’m anxious to see if they will bloom next spring.

If there isn’t enough rain, I will start watering them the middle of July. It is always necessary anyway, to see that they have plenty of water during August, as that is when they set buds for next year’s blossoms.

Time for a little humor and pity for the poor guy:

On his first day of work, the delivery man’s vehicle broke down.

“I need help,” he said to his boss when he called in, “My car just broke down.”

“Where are you?” asked the boss.

“I’m on Eucalyptus Drive,” he replied.

“How do you spell that?” asked the boss.

“Uh, Ew, uh, Eu. OK just forget it,” he answered, “I’ll just push it back.”

Happy birthday to Annell Cochran, Nikki Bradley, Donnette Roberts, Lillian Griscom, Adam Barnes, J. W. Cheatham, Diana Bradley, Brian Bradley, Rickey Myers, Bryson Patrick.

Happy anniversary to Jerrod and Sara Bradley, Gary and Mary Newberry, Duck and Sue Pergeson.

Happy years, all! And Happy 4th of July, everyone.
