Roy Dean McCratic, 73, of Prairie Grove, Ark., passed away Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018, at his home. He was born

Oct. 1, 1944, in Lincoln,

Ark., the son of William

Henry and Winnie Geneva (Snodgrass) McCratic.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandpa and good friend to all. He was known as Pops to all, he never met a stranger. You could find him at the Crawley Parts Store or at the One Stop having coffee with the guys. He loved being with people, liked going hunting with the boys and setting around the camp five and talking. He worked with Boy Scout Troop 94, was a cross-country truck driver, worked at Drake Field Airport and started working at Armstrong Co. in 1973 until he retired in 2009 after 35 years. Then came the love of his life, Antique Farmall Tractors with Rustic Relics Antique Club. He loved the tractor pulls and riding in the parade and meeting new people and talking with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Mary E. Higginboth­am McCratic; two sons, Mark Vickery and wife Tammy of Prairie Grove and James McCratic and wife Lisa of Farmington, Ark.; one sister, Dorothy Jordan; one grandson, Steven Vickery; six step-grandchild­ren, Amber, Courtney, Stephanie, Justin and Kimberly and her husband Johnny; six step-great-grandchild­ren, Amare, Keegan, Adlee, Kambren, Traven and Keiton; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews.

The funeral service was 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, 2018, at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove. Burial was in the Prairie Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital Northwest Campus, Washington Regional Home Health or Washington Regional Hospice.
