John Leroy Barr, 91, of Prairie Grove, Ark., passed away Sun­day,

Sept. 9, 2018, at Wil­lard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville,


He was born Sept. 17,

1926, in Hot Springs, S.D., the son of

Leroy John and He­len Eva (San­ft­ner) Barr. He served in the United States Army dur­ing World War II. He was a member of the Church of Je­sus Christ of Lat­ter Day Saints.

He was pre­ceded in death by his first wife, Marie Eileen Branaugh Barr; his par­ents; one brother, Leonard “Bob” James Barr; and two sis­ters, Mar­lene Fair and Bon­nie Oman.

Sur­vivors in­clude his wife, Dolores Na­tions Barr; one son, Leroy Ge­orge Barr and wife Donna Chase Barr of Olympia, Wash.; two daugh­ters, Donna Lee Miller and hus­band Milt Miller of Salem, Ore., and Kel­ley Dawn Barr of The Dalles, Ore.; eight grand­chil­dren, Mar­ilee Henderson, Blake Ryan Barr, Stephen Leroy Barr, San­dra Rochelle Barr, Darcy Adams, Tony Mel­bye, Ni­cole Stocks and Chelsie For­tune ; three stepchil­dren, James Lynn Edens and wife Lisa Ann Edens, Kathy Leigh Keck and hus­band Bradley Keck and Lisa Anne Luke; seven step-grand­chil­dren, Craig Edens, Paige Edens, Sarah Edens, Daniel Keck, Joshua Keck, Stephanie Bowen, and Christo­pher Luke; and 11 great-grand­chil­dren.

Fu­neral ser­vice will be held 10 a.m. Wed­nes­day, Sept. 12, 2018, at Church of Je­sus Christ of Lat­ter Day Saints in Prairie Grove. Burial will be in the Na­tional Ceme­tery in Fayetteville.
