Robert E. Dilatush Jr., 88, of Farmington, Ark., passed away Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018 in Prairie Grove, Ark. He was born Dec. 8, 1929, in Memphis, Tenn., the son of Robert

E. and Eda (Barry) Dilatush.

He graduated from Hulbert-West Memphis High School in 1947 where he lettered in football. In 1952, he graduated from the University of Arkansas and went on to graduate from Southern Law School in 1961.

He enlisted in the United States Army in November 1951 and served in the Counter Intelligen­ce Corps in Washington, D.C., until he was honorably discharged in 1954.

He was a member of the West Memphis, Ark., Junior Chamber of Commerce where he served as secretary and vice president and received the Distinguis­hed Service Award. He was a member of the Greenwood, Miss., Junior Chamber of Commerce serving as secretary, vice president and chairman of the annual Christmas parade with over 100 bands. He was active in various other activities including: board member for 25 years; president, actor and director of the Greenwood, Miss., Little Theatre; president of the Mississipp­i Theatre Associatio­n; member of West Memphis Crittenden County Republican Central Committee; member of the Greenwood, Miss., Leflore County Democratic Committee; chairman of Leflore County, Miss., Industrial Board; chairman of Leflore County Economic Foundation; member of Greenwood, Miss., Chamber of Commerce; Life + member of Arkansas Alumni Associatio­n, serving six years on the Board of Directors; Razorback Foundation member since 1967; Lady Razorback Foundation member since 1995; season ticket holder for Razorback Football since 1967; and a season ticket holder for all Lady Razorback sports since 1995.

He worked in Foundry Business with his father in Salem, Ill., from 1955-1957, a law clerk for J.H. Spears in West Memphis from 19581961 and retired as Vice President and Secretary of Staple Cotton Cooperativ­e Associatio­n and Staple Cotton Discount Corporatio­n in Greenwood, Miss., in December 1994 after 33 years.

He and his wife retired to Northwest Arkansas in 1995 to be closer to the Razorbacks.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Marc Henry Dilatush; two sisters, Virginia Louise Guynes, Joan Stanford Lakin.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Jane Claire Dilatush; two sons, John Robert Dilatush and wife Christi and their son Tyler and his wife Shannon and Andrew L. Dilatush and wife Theresa and their children Emily and husband Josh, Andrew, Rachel, Abbey and Sarah; one great-grandson, Roland Ace; and one sister, Cynthia Dilatush.

The Funeral Service was 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, at Main Street Baptist Church in Farmington. Burial was in the National Cemetery in Fayettevil­le, Ark.
