Carole Elaine Edwards, 72, of Canehill, Ark., died Thursday,

She was born on Aug. 8, 1946, in Prairie Grove, Ark., to William and Oleta Clark. She worked for many years and then retired from Tyson in Lincoln, Ark. She also enjoyed her time working at the American Drive-In. She raised two sons, Dallas and Shawn McClellan. On Aug. 7, 2002, she married Charles Edwards.

She had a passion for many things. She loved working in her flower beds and all of her beautiful flowers, bird watching, and her extremely loyal companion, Tator. Her colorful flowers were much admired not only by friends and family, but also by all who lived or traveled through Canehill. She was known for her quick wit, her infectious smile, and her kind and compassion­ate spirit, especially when it came to her children or animals. She was a devoted mother, daughter, granny, and wife and spent most of her life caring for others, including her mother and husband.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother; two brothers, Harold Clark of California and Donald Clark of Washington.

She is survived by her husband, Charlie (Pops) Edwards; her two children, Dallas and wife Lisa McClellan of Prairie Grove and Shawn and wife Gina McClellan of Canehill; eight grandchild­ren, Seth, Payton, Emily, Cole, Cassidi, Slader, Rylee and Blayne; sister, Delores Keaton of Lake City, Fla.; stepdaught­er, Kandy and husband Richard Cooper of Lincoln, Ark.; and numerous step-grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018, at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 69 Shop-WithA-Cop Program.
