Cardinal Golfers Bring Red To The Green
FARMINGTON — Farmington competed at a golf meet hosted by the Oakridge Country Club on Monday. Cardinals occupied the top three spots with Rhett South, 74; Landon Lawson, 75; and Dakota Bogan, 77; while Clayton Antwine, 89; placed sixth behind Levi Schultz, of Pea Ridge, fourth at 85; and Ty Frederick, of Elkins, fifth at 88. Jacob Smith paced Shiloh Christian with a 98 and Weston Wheeler, of Elkins, shot a 99; followed by Laytia Bryan, of Huntsville, 118; and Cooper Young, of Shiloh Christian, 118.
Farmington won the boys team title on Aug. 26 at Big Sugar with Pea Ridge hosting a nine-hole round. The Cardinals shot a combined 121 followed by Pea Ridge, 131; Shiloh Christian, 135; Gravette, 140; and Providence Academy, 141.
On Monday, Farmington’s three girls finished one-two and fourth at Oakridge. Bailey Cuzick, 96; Zoe Nix, 98; and Olivia Rodman 103 for a team total of 297.
Shiloh Christian brought three girls and accumulated a team score of 330. Lauren Eldridge shot a 99, followed by Sophia Burasco, 110; and Anna Heil, 121. Kathryn Fancher hit 109 for Huntsville. Mikayla Hammond shot a 116 for Pea Ridge while teammate Allie King was at 121. Emma Rogers was at 126 for Elkins.
Nix shot a 48 playing nine holes at the Creeks Golf Course at Cave Springs on Aug. 20 to edge out Shiloh Christian’s Sophia Burasco, who had a 49. Lauren Eldridge had a 47 and Anna Heil was at 56 for Shiloh Christian.
The Cardinals will host a golf meet on Thursday, Sept. 19 at the Valley View Golf Course.
