Busy Month For Cardinal Cross Country

FARMINGTON — The last month has been a busy one for Farmington cross country runners coached by Breanna Jones.

The varsity boys and girls as well as their junior high counterpar­ts have made good showings at several distance races across Northwest Arkansas.

Springdale Schools Invitation­al

Farmington competed at the Springdale Schools Invitation­al Oct. 12 with the Cardinals lumped into classes 1A-4A with medals given to the top 15 finishers. Farmington won the boys meet for Senior High Boys 1A-4A. Kolby Gardner finished second; Mason Gansz, eighth; Pablo Ochoa, ninth; and Canon King, 15th.

The girls placed second in team standings for Senior High Girls 1A-4A. Senior Joelle Tidwell placed ninth and sophomore Macy Reese was 11th.

Farmington also won the Junior High Boys 1A-4A team title with Gavin Spurlock placing second; Cooper Spurlock, ninth; Cody Klotzbuech­er, 11th; and Cannon Spurlock, 15th. Farmington’s junior high girls teams placed second with Jordyn Paine winning the race and teammates, Addie Kaiser coming in fourth and Gabby McBurnett sixth.

Chile Pepper

The Chile Pepper cross country race held at Fayettevil­le Oct. 5 attracted 778 runners and 48 teams from across the nation for the Junior High Boys division. Gavin Spurlock placed 45th and Cooper Spurlock came in 150th with Farmington junior high boys placing 23rd out of 48 teams.

The Junior High Girls division drew 638 runners and 42 teams from across the nation. The Farmington

girls placed 15th with Jordyn Paine, 25th; Gabby McBurnett, 78th; Addie Kaiser, 95th; and Mary Lauren Bradley, 149th.

Berryville Bobcat Back 40

The top 10 finishers medaled at the Berryville Bobcat Back 40 held Sept. 28 at Berryville. Running in the 4A-5A high school boys category, Ochoa placed eighth. The junior high boys team placed second among 4A-5A teams with Gavin Spurlock leading the team in 10th place. The junior high girls team placed third paced by Jordyn Paine in the sixth spot.
