Who doesn’t dream of being whisked away to a tropical paradise? Now just add all of the magic of Disney and you’ll find yourself at the Caribbean Beach Resort. Martinique, Barbados, Trinidad, Aruba, and Jamaica are the five different villages within resort where you’ll find tropical themes, colorful metal rooftops, and a beautiful white sand beach. This resort is perfect for families and couples, especially those who favor pirates! Let’s check out my top ten reasons why you’ll love the Caribbean Beach Resort.

1. Pirates… AARRR!:

Tucked inside your ship-shaped bed, you’re sure to dream of some swashbuckling fun! Caribbean Beach Resort has incredible pirate-themed rooms. Compasses, skulls and crossbones, barrel tables, and lots of pirate ships await you. This is a must for your pirate loving family!

2. Pools and Waterslides:

There is lots of water-filled fun available for all ages at Caribbean Beach Resort. With seven pools, two relaxing spas, waterslides, and a large shipwreck-themed play area for the 48”-inch and under crowd, everyone’s sure to find fun in the Florida sunshine. Fuentes del Morro, the resort’s main pool, is located outside of Port Royal, and has waterfalls, water cannons, and an 82-foot water slide.

3. Shutter’s:

Open only for dinner reservations, Shutter’s is Caribbean Beach’s only Table Service dining establishment. With Shutter’s, you’ll find that fine dining can be family-friendly. Enjoy incredible entrees and delectable desserts. Try the Chocolate-orange Cake with moist chocolate cake, Grand Mariner custard, and a sweet blood orange sauce. Make sure to reserve your table 180-days in advance.

4. White Sand Beach:

Enjoy long walks on the beach? Then you’ll love this shoreline and the perfect white sand. You can’t find this at all the other Disney resorts!

5. Sail with Pirates:

Departing from Barefoot Bay Bike Works, kids ages 4 – 12 can set sail on the Islands of the Caribbean Pirate Cruise. Snacks, stories, and treasures abound as they embark on a fantastic two-hour adventure. Prices are $37/child, and reservations can be made by calling 407-939-7529.

6. Guided Fishing Excursions:

Hop on a 21-foot Tracker pontoon boat with up to five friends or family, and get ready for a fun-filled catch and release bass fishing trip. Or try out Bass Nitro Fishing, suited for one or two guests. You don’t need to be a pro to enjoy a two or four-hour excursion with an experienced guide. Learn the ropes with tackle, rod and reel, and bait provided. You’ll also receive a one-year subscription to Bassmaster Magazine and the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (BASS). Reservations are recommended 180-days in advance by calling 407-939-BASS (2277).

7. Internal Bus System:

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is one of the largest resorts in the United States! Due to the resort’s massive size, Disney has created an internal busing system. There is a stop at each village, as well as Port Royale, and the Custom Shop. This is super handy for making runs to the gift shop for necessities or to the food court for meals.

8. Five in a Room!

This Moderate Resort has rooms that can accommodate a family of five. Standard rooms have two queen-sized beds and some come with an extra fold down bunk-sized bed.

9. Coconut Postcards:

You definitely need to check out the unique coconut postcards offered at Calypso’s Trading Post. A real painted coconut can be purchased for around $20 (postage included) and sent to anywhere in the continental U.S. Talk about a one-of-a-kind souvenir.

10. Better than the Happiest Happy Meal:

Okay, now get this: the kid’s meals in the food court are served in a sand bucket with a shovel! This is such a fun, usable souvenir that you can play with in the resort tub, along the beach, and even when you get back home.

Caribbean Beach really has some unique features that you can’t find anywhere else on Disney property. So stop daydreaming about that tropical vacation and start planning your magical Walt Disney World getaway at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort!

Oh, and P.S., send me one of those postcards!
