CROWDS AT WDW
What will the crowds be like at Walt Disney World in 2017? That’s the question we try to answer this month in our annual Crowds at WDW issue!
One of the most important things to know before you plan a Walt Disney World vacation is what the crowd levels be like when you get there. It affects everything from the discounts that will be available, to the likelihood of snagging that Cinderella’s Royal Table reservation. Not to mention how long you will have to stand in line.
That’s why we like to end each year with our Crowds at WDW issue. It’s that important. So let’s talk about the 2017 crowds at Walt Disney World.
What will the crowds be like in 2017? Was 2016 an aberration or the new normal? Let’s ask two of the biggest names in WDW crowd tracking, Dave Shute from yourfirstvisit.net and Carl Trent from Dad’s Guide to WDW. Dave and Carl go through the year and give their crowd predictions for each month.
Next, we look at what’s new in 2017. This year was huge for Walt Disney World expansion, especially at Disney Springs. There are a lot of new projects on the board, so which ones will open in 2017? Let’s see…
Once you know what the crowd levels are going to be, you might want to know how that will affect your trip. What to expect in Peak, Mid, and Low Seasons will show what happens to prices, discounts, hours, events, and more when the crowd levels change.
Helping Hands kicks off this month with a look at what are the best dining reservations (ADR’S) to make at the 180-day mark. That’s a good one.
Extra Magic Hours is a nice perk for Disney Resort guests. Get into the parks early or stay late after everyone leaves. Nice. But would you pay for a special event that let you in before the crowds? Are you a Scrooge or a Splurge when it comes to Early Morning Magic?
Have you ever visited Bay Lake Tower? Did you know there is a Disney Vacation Club members-only lounge at the top of Bay Lake Tower? The Top of the World Lounge offers an incredible view of the Magic Kingdom, and all of Walt Disney World.
The Best of WDW
This month we have another great lineup in our Best of WDW section. It starts with a look at the Liberty Belle riverboat in the Magic Kingdom. Take a ride around Tom Sawyer Island on this historic paddleboat. What a ride.
“Do you dream of being whisked away to a tropical paradise?” That’s the way the Best of WDW hotel article starts this month as we look at the 10 Reasons to Love the
Caribbean Beach Resort. Did you know the kid’s meals in the food court come with a bucket and shovel? How fun!
Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café is one of the most “out- of- this- world” dining experiences in Walt Disney World. It’s also one of our favorite places to eat in the Magic Kingdom. Sonny Eclipse rocks out the Starlight Lounge with some unforgettable entertainment. Come check out this interplanetary Tomorrowland gem.
One of the newest attractions at Walt Disney World is the Launch Bay in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Inside Launch Bay is a Star Wars lovers dream. Not only can you meet characters from the movies, walk through exhibits, and watch movies on how the saga was built, you can also do some shopping. It wouldn’t be Walt Disney World without a little shopping. Launch Bay Cargo is the gift shop of the month this month. Come see all the cool Star Wars gear. ( I’m still waiting for that working lightsaber, or maybe not.)
This month we asked our Facebook page followers (check it out!) several questions about planning a WDW trip. What’s most important? What are your must-do dining reservations? Would you pay more for a low crowd event? Lots of good questions and answers.
Would you like to know how to make Cottage Pie? Rose & Crown Pub in the United Kingdom Pavilion at Epcot makes a mean Cottage Pie, and this month we share the
recipe and show you how to make one. Yummy.
In the Vinylmation and Tsum Tsum Corners, we review the year in Vinylmation and Tsum Tsums. It was a very good year.
Special Insert – rundisney Events
Have you ever considered doing a rundisney Event? They really are pretty cool. Each event has something for everyone, including events for the kiddos.
In our Special Insert this month, we walk through the whole process— from signing up to actually running the event and even what happens after. Let the training begin.
Call the kiddos over and get started with Section k! This month you’ll find cartoons, coloring pages, downloadable games and puzzles, and how to build a Countdown to Disney vacation chart with recycled K- Cups. That is going to be fun.
This should keep the kids busy for a while.
Around the World
Going Around the World is the perfect way to wrap up another magical issue of WDW Magazine. This month is not exception.
Have you seen the latest news from WDW? We have it. Did you know that the Walt Disney World Railroad carries around 1.5 million passengers every year? Have you ever heard the Dapper Dan’s sing? This barbershop quartet has been delight WDW crowds since opening day at the Magic Kingdom! Performing along Main Street, U. S. A. every day, nine times a day, in their signature costumes, it’s hard to miss the colorful Dapper Dan’s!
We've got it all covered in this month’s Around The World.
And that’s a wrap. Wow. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy.
