Dis­ney­land Re­sort: Ana­heim, Cal­i­for­nia

The Main Street Elec­tri­cal Pa­rade has re­turned to Dis­ney­land with nightly per­for­mances un­til June 18, 2017. They’re cel­e­brat­ing in style with com­mem­o­ra­tive ban­ners on Main Street, spe­cial tur­tle float glow cubes for bev­er­ages and a whole pa­rade of sweet treats in­spired by the iconic pa­rade.

An­nual Passh­old­ers are in for a salty treat – from Jan­uary 20 – March 19, 2017, AP hold­ers can pur­chase a $15 sou­venir pop­corn bucket which can be used for $1 re­fills.

Lu­nar New Year cel­e­bra­tions are in full swing at Dis­ney’s Cal­i­for­nia Ad­ven­ture un­til Fe­bru­ary 5, 2107 with food, mu­sic, dé­cor and more all in­spired by the Year of the Rooster! An­nual Passh­old­ers can ex­pe­ri­ence spe­cial photo op­por­tu­ni­ties and in­ter­ac­tive ac­tiv­i­ties in honor of the new year as well.

The Star Wars Half Marathon – The Light Side was help on Jan­uary 20, 2017 and drew more than 17,000 run­ners – and 35,000 par­tic­i­pants for spe­cial events over the week­end.

Dis­ney­land Re­sort was closed early on Sun­day Jan­uary 22, 2017 due to in­clement weather, a rare oc­cu­rance.

Dis­ney­land has an­nounced a new ser­vice, Max­pass which com­bines the abil­ity to book Fast­passes via an app, and to un­limted down­loads of their Pho­topass im­ages. The cost is $10/day.

Dis­ney­land Re­sort Paris: Paris, France

Be­gin­ning March 26, 2017, Dis­ney­land Paris will be cel­e­brat­ing it’s 25th An­niver­sary – It’ Time to Sparkle. New con­cept art shows the park decked out in blue and sil­ver for the cel­e­bra­tion.

As part of Sea­son of the Force, the Star Wars Hyper­space Moun­tain: Rebel Mis­sion over­lay on Dis­cov­ery­land’s Space Moun­tain. This ver­sion of the clas­sic at­trac­tion will take rid­ers into the Bat­tle of Jakku.

The “new look” Mickey and Min­nie Mouse that have been ar­riv­ing in Shanghai and Florida have made their way to Dis­ney­land Re­sort Paris for pa­rades and meet and greets.

The Euro Dis­ney Group has part­nered with Pierre & Va­cances to bring to life a new leisure com­plex, Vil­lages Na­ture Paris and are cur­rently re­cruit­ing staff for the open­ing of the new at­trac­tion.

Tokyo Dis­ney Re­sort: Tokyo, Ja­pan

Splash Moun­tain, Alice’s Tea Party, and Roger Rab­bit’s Car Toon Spin, and Tur­tle Talk are all closed for lengthy re­fur­bish­ments, re­open­ing be­tween March and May 2017.

Tokyo Dis­ney­sea’s 15th An­niver­sary cel­e­bra­tions are on­go­ing un­til March 17, 2017.

Hong Kong Dis­ney­land: Hong Kong, China

Iron Man Ex­pe­ri­ence de­buted Jan­uary 11, 2017 at Hong Kong Dis­ney­land. It’s the first Iron Man ride-through at­trac­tion for Dis­ney and in­cludes not only a ride but also meet and greet op­por­tu­ni­ties and in­ter­ac­tive ex­pe­ri­ences.

The Year of the Rooster is be­ing celebrated un­til Fe­bru­ary 2, 2017, which in­cludes presenting each guest with a spe­cial lai see con­tain­ing a piece of choco­late to bid good for­tune.

Shanghai Dis­ney Re­sort: Shanghai, China

The re­sort has re­portd 5.6 mil­lion vis­i­tors in it’s first 6 months of op­er­a­tion.

Au­lani – A Dis­ney Re­sort & Spa: Ko Olina, Hawaii

Au­lani has in­tro­duced it’s 2017-2018 Au­lani Am­bas­sador, Manako Tankaka.

Adventures by Dis­ney

Af­ter a suc­cess­ful first year, the pop­u­lar Danube river cruise is re­turn­ing to the Adventures by Dis­ney lineup in 2017.

Dis­ney Cruise Line

Se­lect Dis­ney Magic sail­ings from New York in 2017 will in­clude the first ever Marvel Day at Sea of­fer­ings, fea­tur­ing ac­tion packed en­ter­tain­ment, ac­tiv­i­ties, desk par­ties, mer­chan­dise, and of course – themed food and bev­er­ages.

Port­hole Cruise Mag­a­zine has hon­ored Remy (the French in­spired restau­rant found on­board the Dis­ney Dream and Dis­ney Fan­tasy) with its 2017 Edi­tor-in-chief Award for Best Spe­cialty Restau­rant.

Film, TV, and More

If you loved Moana, get ready to head back to the­atres to ex­pe­ri­ence it again – in the sing-a-long for­mat that proved so pop­u­lar for Frozen.

Dis­ney is up for 8 Os­cars this year be­tween Zootopia, Moana, The Jun­gle Book, Doc­tor Strange, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Piper. Fin­ing Dory didn’t make the cut.

Dis­ney has re­leased a new adult coloring book app, called Color by Dis­ney – avail­able on IOS and An­droid de­vices.

The new Star Wars film de­but­ing this De­cem­ber has been of­fi­cially given a name: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi.

The new live ac­tion Beauty and the Beast film com­ing to the­aters this March has some se­ri­ous star power be­hind the sound­track – Ari­ana Grande and John Leg­end will sing the ti­tle track and Ce­line Dion who sang for the 1991 an­i­mated ver­sions will re­turn to sing an all new orig­i­nal song.

Over on Broad­way, Aladdin will say good­bye to the orig­i­nal Ge­nie – cast mem­ber James Mon­roe In­gle­hart is leav­ing to per­form in Hamil­ton and Ma­jor At­t­away will take his place.

Ra­pun­zel fans are get­ting ex­cited as Tan­gled: Be­fore Ever Af­ter is set to head to the Dis­ney Chan­nel this spring with an orig­i­nal movie and tele­vi­sion se­ries. Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi re­turn to voice Ra­pun­zel and Eu­gene/flynn, re­spec­tively.
