The 46th edition of the Western Art Association’s National Fine Art Show & Auction will take place May 18 at the Kittitas Valley Event Center in Ellensburg, Washington. More than 45 Western artists will be participating, including Sandra Haynes, this year’s poster artist, who created Living Wild, featuring five horses.

“Living Wild depicts some of Sandra’s neighbors, the wild horses of Central Oregon. We are delighted that she agreed to paint our poster art and be the featured artist for 2018,” says Joann Wise with the Western

Art Association. “Sandra has been a part of the ‘Ellensburg Show’ for a number of years offering a wide variety of media and subject matter. A painting dramatizing these magnificent animals stays true to that part of our mission ‘to preserve our Western heritage and its way of life as expressed through art.’”

Other artists include Lynn Cain, Carolyn Shipman, Robert Tandecki, Dave Gressard, Hulan Fleming, Peter X. O’brien, Edna Bjorge, Naomi Gray, David W. Mayer,

Jerry Snodgrass, Lee Tisch Bialczak, Robert Walton, Rick Urdahl, Ron Moore and many others.

The three-day event, which runs from May 18 to 20, features an exhibition with artist booths, a quick draw and auction, an award ceremony, live music and two fine art auctions at 4 p.m. on May 19 and 1 p.m. on May 20.
