Albuquerque’s Hotel Chaco now offering unique tours to Chaco Canyon Historic Park.

-

Hotel Chaco, a boutique property inspired by the ancient architecture and civilization of Chaco Canyon, is now offering day adventures to the Chaco Canyon National Monument, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its sprawling collection of ruins that date back 1,100 years ago.

Previous excursions hosted by the 118-room boutique, luxury hotel located in Old

Town Albuquerque have been immensely popular, which has prompted the hotel to return this year with an expanded schedule and new offerings, including overnight “glamping”—that’s glamourous camping for our true-blue cowboy readers— trips that will coincide with the spring and fall equinoxes. (The next overnight trip is on September 22 and 23.) Day trips will take place every Saturday through November, with expanded, custom or private day and overnight trips also available. Located in northwestern New Mexico, Chaco Canyon National Monument was home to a thriving Pueblo culture between 850 and 1250. What remains of the timber and sandstone buildings—designed to align with the movement of the sun, moon and stars—is now one of New Mexico’s most cherished archeological sites.

“We conceived these trips as a way for more people to access and explore this magical place,” says Angelisa Murray, owner of Heritage Inspirations, which has partnered with the hotel to bring guests to Chaco Canyon. “We take care of all transportation and logistics so our guests can simply relax and absorb the scenery.”
