The Woolaroc Museum & Wildlife Preserve is a 3,700-acre working ranch that has a 50,000-square-foot world-class museum. The museum started out as a hangar in 1929 for the Woolaroc airplane, a plane Frank Phillips sponsored in the Dole Flight from Oakland California to Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1927. Over the years Frank continued to receive gifts and make art acquisitions, and the museum grew room by room. Now, Woolaroc has more than 600 paintings, 300 bronzes, 2,300 pieces of Native American art and artifacts, and hundreds of pieces of taxidermy that decorate the walls of the museum and lodge.

The museum’s most anticipated event and art exhibition, The Woolaroc Retrospective Exhibit and Sale, opens October 18 and continues through December 29. This year’s show will feature Tony Angell, Clyde Aspevig, Logan Maxwell Hagege, Quang Ho, Tony Hochstetler, Jeremy Lipking, Thomas Quinn, and Skip Whitcomb, all of whom are nationally recognized for their work. A cocktail reception and sale will be held in the museum on Saturday, October 19. In addition, two artist presentations will be held in the Events Center at Woolaroc earlier in the day. For sponsors of the show, an elegant artist and sponsor appreciation dinner will be held on Friday evening, October 18, on the Woolaroc Ranch grounds along with a brunch to be held on Sunday, October 20, at a private residence.
