Heritage Auctions’ Art of the West

Last March, Heritage Auctions hosted its first standalone Art of the West sale, which had previously been a segment of its fine and decorative art sales. In this second iteration, the sale has grown in size to feature more than 250 paintings and sculptures with prices ranging from $500 to $50,000. The auction is made up of work from various private collection­s, with it concentrat­ing primarily on the contempora­ry Western art offerings. Available will be pieces from some of the biggest names at prices that are accessible to collectors of all types.

“Of course we have our collectors who buy historic works as well, and this sale kind of rounds out their collection­s as they also buy contempora­ry art,” says Alissa Ford, director of Western art at Heritage. “But we see different buyers, in that there are people who have
