Tim and Linda Cherry
Readers of this magazine may be familiar with Tim Cherry’s polished and stylized metal works of Western wildlife that have appeared at many galleries and museum exhibitions all around the country. In recent years, though, Tim has joined his wife, Linda Cherry, in the studio and the duo has been designing jewelry under the name TLC Fine Art Jewelry.
“TLC Fine Art Jewelry is a joyful expression of art, animals and nature,” Tim says of the designs. “It’s wearable art that speaks to your inner-animal.”
The project is very much a union of Tim and Linda’s interests and passions, including Tim’s style that is influenced by the “art nouveau culture with uniquely orchestrated compositions and avant-garde patinas.” Linda puts her mark on the work by complementing Tim’s animals with beautiful color, abstracted forms and original designs. Their pieces are cast in sterling silver or gold, and adorned with precious and semiprecious gemstones, everything from Sunrise Topaz and Tsavorite Garnet to amethyst and diamonds.
Raised in British Columbia, Canada, where he developed a deep appreciation of nature and animals, Tim was exposed to nature after his grandfather took him fishing for trout in the mountain creeks when he was a small boy. His sense of curiosity led him to exploring most of western Canada. Today he is an awardwinning sculptor who has been shown at some of the most prestigious art events in the country, including the Masters of the American
West and the Prix de West. Linda’s creative path has been nurtured through a lifetime of art education, graphic design and 30 years of involvement in the fine art world with Tim. Her love of the outdoors and “all things colorful, sprinkled with a little bling,” is part of her lifestyle. After her grandmother gave her a small bug-shaped pin, she was captivated in the power of jewelry.
Linda and Tim own the Crystal Fish Gifts in Branson, Missouri, the flagship store for TLC Fine Art Jewelry. The line is available there and on Tim’s website.
