Five wolves running through snow amid early-morning light is the subject of Dustin Van Wechel’s newest work, Winter Warriors, now on display at Trailside Galleries. “This latest painting clearly expresses his exceptional comprehension of design, brushwork and color usage,” the gallery notes. “Van Wechel’s contemporary interpretations stem from firsthand experiences or personal observations. His paintings are always intimate, presenting the viewer with a portrayal of the subject matter and ideas in each painting that they can connect with emotionally.” To see more or inquire about this work visit www.trailsidegalleries.com.

The location, with its sweeping views out over the Grand Canyon, is the subject of a new work by California-based painter Deladier Almeida. Using his unique color palette and his contemporary style of painting the land, Almeida finds a new perspective at the popular painting location. 3 EZRA TUCKER SENDS A MASSIVE BEAR PAINTING TO THE BROADMOOR GALLERIES

4 ELSA SROKA HAS NEW PIECES AVAILABLE AT ANN KOROLOGOS GALLERY

Colorado painter Elsa Sroka is an artist to keep your eye on as she explores Western subject matter at Ann Korologos Gallery in Basalt, Colorado. “Elsa has been on our radar for some time, but we finally met her in 2020 at the Coors Western Art Exhibit & Sale and were struck by Sroka’s imaginative style infusing her subjects— often cows—with personality and connection, placed in unexpected settings,” the gallery notes. “In Sroka’s latest cow series, expression is the most important element, infusing the subject with personality. The abstract quality of her work skews the reality of her subject. She believes the ordinary subject becomes significantly more intriguing when misplaced, such as in a parlor, inviting the viewer to pay attention through the element of surprise. This idea can apply to many different subjects, encouraging appreciation of the more subtle qualities of beauty.” For more information visit www.korologosgallery.com.
