Western Gift Guide is Back!

- Wendie Martin & Adolfo Castillo

Welcome to the December issue! December brings nostalgia, holiday spirit, tradition and gift-giving. Lucky for you, our editorial team is prepared and timely with our Western Holiday Gift Guide starting on Page 78. We work very hard to bring new gift ideas from Western artists to our Western art lovers. It is one of our favorite features because it is different and unique each year. We are warning you in advance: It will be hard not to find something that you must have or must gift!

To complement the season, many of our gallery previews offer small works as their focus. (Secret tip:

Check them out and select your art early right from our pages before the show opens.) Some of the galleries offering these holiday shows include Legacy Gallery,

Manitou Galleries, Claggett/rey Gallery, Parsons Gallery of the West and many more. There are eight previews in total and any one of them will tempt your holiday spirit for collecting.

Looking into 2023, here are a few New Year’s resolutions to add to your list: Go to a paint-out and watch artists create live. Find a gallery you like and develop a partnership with them to help guide you in building your collection. Travel to an event, auction or museum show you have always wanted to attend. The beauty of the Western art world is that it is approachable, part of our own heritage and includes some of the most prestigious artists and shows in the United States.

From our magazine family to yours, Happy Holidays!

P.S. If you haven’t listened to our podcast, the American Art Collective, you should. We are now the No. 1 art podcast in the market. You will love the artist stories, including recent interviews with Howard Post, Patricia A. Griffin, Andy Thomas and many more. Simply put on your earbuds, pick an artist and enjoy the story!
