Mark Your Calendars
As we start to look into the coming year—where did 2022 go?!—we are turning much of our attention to the upcoming show and exhibition calendars of galleries, museums, auction houses and even from individual artists. We’ve already shared numerous sneak peeks into 2023, which you’ll find in this and other recent issues, and I can assure you it’s going to be an amazing year for Western art.
Our whole editorial team, from top to bottom, takes great pride in the number of shows and events covered in Western Art Collector. Not only do we aim to cover as many openings as we can fit in the magazine, but we try our hardest to also devote some serious coverage to the big shows, the important shows and the shows that contribute greatly to the genre of Western art. And, as often as possible, the pages of the magazine are filled with art that is on the market. So, if you see something in the magazine, chances are that you can purchase it.
As we reach out to art venues from coast to coast about their 2023 schedules, we like to remind them that knowledge is power in the art world. We encourage these art destinations to publicize their dates early and often, so collectors can see them and maybe even plan travel around a particular event. We want our readers and collectors to not only be armed with the best information, but the most up-to-date information as well. As you read the magazine, you can learn about upcoming events in our regular preview coverage, the Western Art Trail calendar and through our social media feeds. Our goal is to keep you informed about the best shows happening within the market.
We love doing this. And we love hearing from you as well, so don’t hesitate to reach out to let me know what events you’re excited about. It never hurts to send a quick email about what kind of art you’re looking at or what shows you’re planning on attending. It’s vital we know what our readers are excited about within the market.
As always, I hope to see you at an art show soon!
