Meldon Lane Current

Meldon Lane Current, 83, died at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab in Siloam Springs on Aug. 20, 2016.

He was born in College Place, Wash. on Nov. 27, 1932, to Paul and Phyllis Current. He attended Columbia Academy in Battlegrou­nd, Wash., where he met and later married Anna May Graham on July 12, 1951. He worked for Weyerhaeus­er Lumber Company, in a partnershi­p with his father in a small sawmill, at several furniture factories and was a certified mechanic for Volkswagen of America. He lived in Boulder, Colo., where he worked alongside his brother in the constructi­on business and ran his own crews for many years. He and his wife moved to Arkansas in the mid 1980s and owned and operated a small chicken farm. He was a member of Springtown Seventh-day Adventist Church. He and Anna May were charter members of the local Tired Iron of the Ozarks.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four siblings; one granddaugh­ter; and his wife of 55 years, Anna May.

He is survived by one brother, Neilan Current and wife Jeanne of Casper, Wyo.; his three children, Rose Miller and husband Billy of Gentry, Lois Warner and husband Gary of Masonville, Colo., and Duane Current and wife Darla of Davenport, Wash.; 11 grandchild­ren; 15 greatgrand­children; and a few great-great-grandchild­ren.

A viewing for family and friends will be held at Wasson Funeral Home on Friday, Aug. 26, from 6-8 p.m.

Iva ‘Jan’ Flatt

Iva “Jan” Flatt, 72, of Gentry, died August 21, 2016, at Ozarks Community Hospital, Gravette.

She was born June 2, 1944, in Fayettevil­le, to Thomas Franklin Kennedy and Bertha Rae (Carpenter) Kennedy. She and Boyed Eugene Flatt were married July 18, 1967. She was a member of Eastern Star and Siloam Springs Church of Latter Day Saints.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one son.

Survivors include her sons, Thomas Flatt and wife Linda of Siloam Springs, Travis Flatt and wife Chrissy of Gentry, and Tobey Flatt of Gentry; 13 grandchild­ren; seven greatgrand­children; brothers, David Kennedy and Keith Kennedy, both of Decatur.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 27, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs. Burial will follow at Springtown Cemetery, Springtown. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 26, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Lizzie Rebeccah Hartley

Lizzie Rebeccah Hartley, 89 and a longtime resident of Gravette, died Aug. 21, 2016.

She was born July 28, 1927, in Siloam Springs to Andrew and Emma Bouyear. She was the wife of the late Ernest Loy Hartley.

Lizzie is survived by her children, Charlie Lee Hartley and wife Brenda, Thelma Jean Hartley and husband Bryson, Ernest Loy Hartley, Jr., and wife Kristina, Shirley Ann Hartley-LeRoy and husband Gary; 13 grandchild­ren; 13 great-grandchild­ren; 23 great-great-grandchild­ren.

Arrangemen­ts are by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Bentonvill­e.

Juanita Wright

Juanita Wright, 80, of Gravette, died August 21, 2016, at Circle of Life in Springdale.

She was born Sept. 20, 1935, in McCrory, to Alfred Anderson and Ethel (Graves) Anderson. She was a retired receptioni­st for Walmart Vision Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her sons, Clinton Welch and wife Pam of Bella Vista, and Fabian Welch and wife Tammy of Bentonvill­e; daughter, Anita Cordeiro and husband Mike of Gravette; grandchild­ren, Adam Rutherford, Eric Rutherford, Nathan Ballenger, Nick Welch, Anita Minyard, Marcus Cordeiro, Kyle Cordeiro, Blake Welch and Brent Welch; 10 greatgrand­children; sisters, Dorothy, Nancy and Nadine, all of California; and brothers, JC Anderson, Ray Anderson and Oscar Anderson, all of California.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs.
