Gravette teams place second at Pioneer Relays

GENTRY — Gravette’s boys’ and girls’ track teams finished in second place in Thursday’s Pioneer Relays held at Gentry High School, with the boys scoring 108 points and the girls, 124.5 points.

The Decatur girls finished in fifth place, and the Decatur boys in 10th. Gentry finished sixth in the boys’ events and 10th in the girls’ competitio­n.

Kelton Trembley of Gravette took first in the high jump, clearing 5 feet, 8 inches.

Cole Cripps of Gentry took first in the pole vault, clearing 14 feet, 2 inches. Bracy Owens finished second in the event at 12 feet, six inches, and Aaron Campbell of Gravette finished in third. Cripps also finished second in the triple jump and third in the long jump.

In the shot put, Mason Clark took first for Gentry, throwing the shot 46.5 feet. Aiden Patton of Gravette finished second. Clark also finished first in the discus throw at 123 feet, 6 inches. He was followed by Jon Faulkenber­ry and Patton in third and fourth places.

Gravette’s team of Daniel Huntsman, Austin Moon, Tyler Kardynalsk­i and Frederico Goi finished second in the 4x800 relay. Gravette’s team of Danny DeLapp, TJ Kardynalsk­i, Roberto Barrios and Alex Fink took first in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:37.64.

Alex Fink finished first in the 100-meter dash, with a time of 11.51. He also took a first in the 200- and 400-meter dashes, finishing in 22.84 and 50.67.

On the girls’ side, Gravette’s Sally Bird and Anne Jorgensen took second and third in the high jump with jumps of 4 feet, six inches.

Teagan Dixon of Gravette cleared 15 feet, 6 inches, for a second in the long jump.

Desi Meek of Decatur took third in the triple jump, first in the pole vault at 8 feet, second in the 100-meter hurdles, second in the 100-meter dash, first in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 48.77, and second in the 200-meter dash. Cally Kildow of Gravette finished in third in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Teagan Dixon finished third in the 400-meter dash.

Gravette’s team of Haley Betz, Teagan Dixon, Kyrstin Branscum and Sally Bird finished second in the 4x400 relay. In the 4x100, Gravette’s team of Betz, Dixon, Branscum and Madi Spencer finished third. In the 4x800meter relay, Gravette’s team of Brynn Hilger, Jacquelyn Mayberry, Sally Bird and Tori Foster finished in first with a time of 11:30.73.

Brooke Brasel finished third in the 3200-meter run.
