Lady Lions continue shutouts
GRAVETTE — Cally Kildow threw another shutout on Friday when the Lady Lions defeated the visting Lady Bobcats from Berryville. She pitched four innings, struck out 12 batters and walked none.
While Kildow and her teammates didn’t allow a single run, the Lady Lions scored plenty of runs and sent home the Lady Bobcats scratched and bleeding in the 16-0 win on Friday.
The Berryville girls had only two hits in the game. Gravette had 12, with Sumer Kaba, Gabbi Curtis, Kildow and Hannah Cole each racking up multiple hits. Curtis and Kaba each had three. Kaba led with four RBIs in the game.
Cole and Kaba each had triples in the game. Hitting doubles were Kaba, Curtis, Bailey Elmore and Kildow.
Gravette took the lead early with two runs in the first and another eight in the second. The Lady Lions scored another three runs in both the third and fourth innings to mercy rule their opponents in four innings.
Gravette 5, Pea Ridge 2
The Lady Lions broke a 2-2 tie with a three-run fifth inning, and Kildow allowed just three hits in the game.
Kildow struck out 12 and walked just one in a complete-game win. She was also 3-for-3 at the plate with a double and a triple. Kaba was 2-for-4 with a double.
Stephanie Chase took the loss for Pea Ridge, allowing eight hits. Hollyn Davis was 2-for-3 with a double for Pea Ridge. Quinley Roses doubled and had an RBI.
Gravette 8, Lincoln 0
On April 10, the Lady Lions shut out Lincoln in 6 1/5 innings, 8-0.
Gravette scored a run in the third, six in the fourth and another in the sixth inning.
Kildow pitched seven innings, striking out 15, walking none and allowing only one hit. She also had two hits and three RBIs.
Emily Ellis hit a double in the game and drove in one. Kaba was 2-for-3 and scored once.
