GENTRY — Police in Gentry arrested Tyler M. Shaver, 21, of Gentry, in connection with a June 24 incident in which he is alleged, according to police reports, to have obstructed vehicular traffic on Gentry’s Main Street during a cruise night and then fled from police. Pending charges included disorderly conduct for obstructin­g traffic and fleeing, both misdemeano­rs.

■ Police arrested Melvin S. Chaney, 22, of Bentonvill­e, on June 18, in connection with disorderly conduct on south Pioneer Lane. According to police reports, Cheney was allegedly intoxicate­d, yelling and banging on a truck hood.

■ Police arrested Kyle L. Holt, 30, of Gentry, on June 30, in connection to misdemeano­r domestic assault and battery (in the third degree). According to police reports, Holt also had a warrant out of Rogers for failure to pay a fine.

■ Police cited and released Benito Rebollar Penaloza, 26, of Decatur, on July 1, in connection to possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug parapherna­lia. According to police reports, the arrest came about as a result of a traffic stop for exceeding the speed limit, with Gentry police able to smell what was believed to be the odor of marijuana coming from Penaloza’s car. A search yielded a container with what police believed to be marijuana and two pipes, one with a green residue in it and one with a white residue in it, according to police reports.

■ Gentry police also worked an injury accident on the evening of July 4 at the intersecti­on of Arkansas Highway 59 and Shankles Road. According to police reports, a westbound vehicle is alleged to have pulled out on Highway 59 in the path of a southbound vehicle. At least one person was transporte­d to Siloam Springs Regional Hospital with unknown injuries.

Other Arrests Centerton

■ Shawn Deanthony Brown, 47, of 15068 N. Arkansas 43 in Gravette, was arrested Thursday in connection with possession of firearm by certain persons. Brown was being held Friday in the Benton County Jail with no bond set.

Siloam Springs

■ Richard Earl Calico Jr., 41, 11354 Morris Maxwell Lane in Gentry, was arrested July 3 in connection with theft by receiving. Calico was being held July 3 in the Benton County Jail with no bond set.

■ Jonathan Gleu Dale, 29 of 13452 County Road 456 in Jay, Okla., was arrested July 2 in connection with possession of firearms by certain persons. Dale was being held July 3 in the Benton County Jail with no bond set.

Rogers

■ Nicky Marin Nicholas, 37, of 609 Cherokee Drive in Gentry, was arrested June 26 in connection with four counts of breaking or entering and theft of property. Nicholas was being held June 26 in the Benton County Jail with no bond set.

Siloam Springs

■ Brandon Shane Elliot, 33, of 15545 Strawberry Ridge in Gravette, was arrested June 26 in connection with aggravated assault on a family or household member. Elliot was being held June 26 in the Benton County Jail with no bond set.

Benton County Sheriff’s Office

■ Joel Miles Rogers, 32, of 2432 Honey Creek Road in Sulphur Springs, was arrested June 24 in connection with aggravated assault of a family or household member. Rogers was being held June 24 at the Benton County Jail with no bond set.

Doris Ruth Davis, 96 year old resident of Gentry, Arkansas, died July 1, 2017, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Born March 28, 1921, in Seligman, Missouri, she was the daughter of Edgar Poe Davis and Lucy Mae Feeback Davis. Doris married Richard Loren Davis on December 12, 1941, in Sayer, Oklahoma, and they celebrated their 75th wedding anniversar­y this past year. Doris and Loren lived in Yale, Oklahoma, for many years before moving to Joplin, Missouri. They lived in Joplin until they retired to Loren’s family farm in 1979. She was active member of the First Christian Church in Gentry.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Margie Davis and Betty Preston; two brothers, George Davis and Jack Davis; one daughter-inlaw, Kathleen Davis; and one son-in-law, Dennis Murray.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Loren Davis of the home; five children: John Davis and wife Carol of San Marcos, Texas, Karen Rees and husband Ben of Hong Kong, China; Mark Davis and wife Arlene of Gentry, Tim Davis of Yale, Oklahoma, and Anne Davis Murray of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; ten grandchild­ren; many great grandchild­ren; and one sister, Kathlyn Burnell of McLean, Virginia. Doris was a loved wife, mother, grandmothe­r, sister and friend. She will be very missed.

Wanda Lou Elliott

Wanda Lou Elliott, 70, of Hindsville, died June 30, 2017, at Bentonvill­e.

She was born March 19, 1947, in Highfill, to Lonzo Robert Elliott and Bonnie Jean Littrell Elliott. She lived in northwest Arkansas all of her life. She made knickknack­s for her family and was a member of Highfill Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandparen­ts.

She is survived by two sisters, Deloris Jay of Decatur, and Doris Jessen and husband Jim of Highfill; two brothers, Robert Elliott and wife Sharon of Kansas, Okla., and Paul Elliott and wife Barbara of Hindsville.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 7, 2017, at Highfill Methodist Church, Highfill, with Pastor Russ Hall officiatin­g. Burial followed at Highfill Cemetery with arrangemen­ts by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Sean G. Pierce

Sean G. Pierce, 18, of Gentry, died July 6, 2017, at Washington Regional Hospital, Fayettevil­le.

He was born Sept. 9, 1998, in Jacksonvil­le, to Carolyn Harris Honey. He graduated from Gentry High School and lettered in football and baseball. He was an apprentice electricia­n.
