Former west-side teacher, administrator in running for superintendent’s post
SUDBURY (Mass.) — According to The MetroWest Daily News in Framingham, Mass., Brad Crozier is among the finalists for the position of superintendent of the K-8 Sudbury Schools.
Christine Hogan, chairwoman of the Sudbury Public School Committee announced that Glenn Brand, Brad Crozier, James Jolicoeur and Alexandra Montes McNeil are the four finalists for the post.
According to The MetroWest Daily News, Crozier has been a classroom teacher, grades K-5, (1994-95) in Milford, Conn.; a grade 6 science teacher in Gravette (199698); a K-5 assistant principal in Gentry (1998-2000); the principal of the Gentry Intermediate School (2000-01); the principal of the K-5 Happy Hollow School in Wayland, Mass. (2001-07); and the assistant superintendent of schools in Wayland, Mass., from 2007 to the present.
Crozier earned a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, a master of science degree in elementary education from the University of Bridgeport (Mass.), did graduate studies in school administration at the University of Arkansas and advanced graduate studies in education administration and policy at Boston College.
The school committee engaged the assistance of the UMass Boston Collins Center to screen candidates. The Collins Center reported that there were 35 applications, from which the 11-member screening committee selected eight applicants to interview.
At the conclusion of these confidential interviews, the screening committee reviewed each candidate and, after a careful discussion and deliberation, arrived at a consensus decision of the four finalists.
Hogan said that the next steps will include the school committee interviewing the candidates, touring the schools, meeting with teachers and staff, as well as public forums. This will take place the week of February 26.
Hogan indicated that she expects to have a decision by March 15 and that the school committee would make its announcement of the next superintendent by the middle of March.
