Gentry girls fall to Berryville
GENTRY — Two Berryville runs in the seventh gave the Lady Bobcats a 7-6 victory over the Lady Pioneers on Friday at Berryville.
After Berryville took an early lead with a run in the first and three more in the second, the Lady Pioneers scored five runs in the fifth to take the lead, though the Lady Bobcats tied things up at 5 runs each by the end of the inning.
Gentry then took the lead in the top of the sixth, scoring a solo run when Melody Owens hit a hard ground ball out into center field, bringing home Makayla Case, who was running for Alexis Droddy.
Owens had two of Gentry’s eight hits in the game. Barber had two RBIs.
Pitching for Gentry was Raegan Jude. She allowed 11 hits, seven earned runs and struck out two.
Gravette 18, Gentry 0
On Thursday, the Lady Pioneers were shut out, 18-0, by the Lady Lions in a game played in Gravette due to a wet ballfield in Gentry.
Meledy Owens and Mandy Barber had Gentry’s only hits in the game with one each.
