Aileen H. Covey

Aileen H. Covey, 90-year-old resident of Gentry, Arkansas, died June 22, 2018, at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Born May 16, 1928, in Maysville, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Frank Haddock and Eunice Bougher Haddock. Aileen was a retired secretary and was active in the Gentry Senior Center. She was a member of Gentry United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter Jackie Bader of Gentry, Arkansas; grandson Paul Wade of Gentry, Arkansas; granddaugh­ter Brandy Cordeiro and husband Mike of Gentry, Arkansas; great-grandchild­ren Shelby Wade, Brently Wade, Falyn Cordeiro and Brynn Cordeiro; greatgreat-grandchild Emmitt Taylor; daughter she raised Janet Covey Novotny of Eagle, Idaho; grandchild Lindsey Steel and her children Covey and Eilee Steel.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 25, 2018, Gentry United Methodist Church, Gentry, Arkansas. Burial will follow at Maysville Cemetery, Maysville, Arkansas. Ava Eilene Griffin

Ava Griffin, 95, of Logan Community, Benton County, Arkansas, died Sunday, June

17, 2018, in Springdale, Arkansas.

Born December 17,

1922, in Evening Star Community near Cave Springs, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Jim Heagerty and May Blair Heagerty. Ava was a graduate of Vaughn High School where she played basketball and went by the nickname “Hank.” She married Lee Griffin January 24, 1943, in Logan, and together they owned and operated a Dairy Farm. He preceded her in death in 1985. She was a long time active member of Highfill Methodist Church. Ava was also a 4-H leader and remained active in the Benton County organizati­on until her death. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee and one great-granddaugh­ter Blythe Lee Irby.

Survivors include a son Jim Griffin and wife Jackie of Logan Community; 2 daughters, Nancy Irby and husband John of Skiatook, Oklahoma; Jeanie Strasner and husband Steve of Russellvil­le, Arkansas. 6 grandsons, Clayton Irby and wife Andrea; Sam Strasner and wife Heather; Scott Strasner and wife Jodi; Jessie Griffin and wife Rachel; Stan Strasner; and Lee Griffin and wife Casey. 2 granddaugh­ters, Christa Arnold and husband Jonathan and Julie Griffin. 3 great-grandsons, Knox Griffin; Hank Griffin; Seth Strasner and 6 greatgrand­daughters, Morgan Stevens; Layla Irby; Preslee Arnold; Sophie Strasner; Lyric Griffin and Jordyn Arnold.

Visitation will be Friday, June 22, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Funeral services will 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Highfill Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Holland and Rev. Roger Robins officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Gregory R. Peck, 69, died at his home in Hiwasse on Monday, June 18, 2018.

He was born Oct. 25, 1948, in Chillicoth­e,

Ohio, to

Robert and Matilda

Peck. He resided in Circlevill­e,

Ohio, until relocating to Arkansas in 1984. He was the owner of Peck Window Inc., an avid golfer, bowler, crap shooter and salesman. He was a lifetime member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge #77 of Circlevill­e, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 33 years, Lucille Prater Peck.

He is survived by daughters, Angela (Marshall) Akers of Circlevill­e, Ohio, Jennifer (Jason) Powell of Stoutsvill­e, Ohio, Amy (Tim) Scritchfie­ld of Hiwasse; son, Robert Peck of Rogers; bonus daughter, Erin Vigil; his grandchild­ren, Hayleigh (Nathan) Carver, Jarett and Jesse Powell, Bristol Peck, Paisley Scritchfie­ld; bonus granddaugh­ter, Lexi Vigil; sisters, Beverly Butt of Florida, Nancy Wheatley of West Virginia and Janet Smith of Ohio.

A celebratio­n of life will take place at the Elks Lodge in Circlevill­e, Ohio, on Tuesday, July 10, from 7 to 9 p.m.
