Gravette’s Independence Day celebration set Satur­day

GRAVETTE — City of Gravette of­fi­cials and mem­bers of the Greater Gravette Cham­ber of Com­merce in­vite all to: “Bring a lawn chair and come, join us at Pop Al­lum Park for an Independence Day celebration!”

The an­nual celebration and fire­works show is set for this Satur­day, June 30, with the fire­works set to be­gin about 9 p.m.

The evening will kick off at 5 p.m. with ex­hi­bi­tion games at the new hu­man foos­ball court re­cently com­pleted by mem­bers of the Gravette Li­ons Club. Teams of six per­sons are still be­ing sought to play in these first games of Gravette’s new­est sport. School or church groups, clubs or fam­i­lies are en­cour­aged to sign up and come help chris­ten the new court. An of­fi­cial ded­i­ca­tion and rib­bon cutting for the foos­ball court will be held at 6 p.m.

Other ac­tiv­i­ties will be­gin at 7 p.m. Food trucks will be set up at the park sell­ing drinks and snacks dur­ing the evening. Mu­sic and chil­dren’s en­ter­tain­ment, in­clud­ing in­flat­a­bles, are also planned to pre­cede the fire­works show.
