Lions Club in­stalls of­fi­cers, re­ceives mem­ber, gives award

GEN­TRY — The Gen­try Lions Club held a spe­cial in­stal­la­tion cer­e­mony and din­ner for its new of­fi­cers at its June 25 meet­ing, re­ceived a new mem­ber and rec­og­nized the ser­vice of one of its of­fi­cers.

New of­fi­cers of the club in­clude Eu­ge­nia Mayen Mon­toya, pres­i­dent; Roberta DeFraga, first vice pres­i­dent; Max­ine Foster, se­cond vice pres­i­dent; Charla Whitaker, sec­re­tary; Randy Moll, treasurer; Ri­cardo Mayen, tail twis­ter; and Howard Allen, Lion Tamer. In­stalled to the club’s board of direc­tors were Ross Har­ris, Dr. Ashish Mathur, Pragya Mathur and Lon­nie Moll.

Max­ine Foster was for­mally re­ceived as a new mem­ber in a cer­e­mony per­formed by zone chair­man Bill Mat­tler of Gravette in the meet­ing held in the Mc­Kee Com­mu­nity Room of the Gen­try Pub­lic Li­brary. Her Lion spon­sor, Roberta DeFraga, pinned a cen­ten­nial Lions Club pin on Foster af­ter she was re­ceived as a new mem­ber. The pins were given to new mem­bers who joined dur­ing the Lions Club cen­ten­nial year.

Out­go­ing pres­i­dent Lon­nie Moll pre­sented Charla Whitaker, the Gen­try Lions Club’s sec­re­tary, a Lion of the Year Award for her hard work on the club’s books and records.
