A free di­a­betes test­ing will be of­fered from 9 to 11 a.m. Wed­nes­day, Nov. 14, Na­tional Di­a­betes Aware­ness Day, at the Gravette pub­lic li­brary, 119 Main Street S.E. Spon­sored by mem­bers of the Gravette Lions Club, the event will of­fer blood sugar test­ing as well as blood pres­sure checks and will of­fer pulse oxime­ter read­ings.

Ben­ton County will con­duct a town hall meet­ing in Gravette to share in­for­ma­tion and an­swer ques­tions on the new agree­ment for emer­gency med­i­cal ser­vices in west­ern Ben­ton County. The meet­ing will be held at the Gravette Civic Cen­ter, 401 Char­lotte Street S.E., on Thurs­day, Nov. 15. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the pre­sen­ta­tion will be­gin at 6 p.m.

A gala to sup­port the work of Gen­try Pub­lic Li­brary is sched­uled for 6:30 p.m. on Satur­day, Nov. 17, in the Gen­try Mid­dle School cafe­te­ria. The gala theme is “A Novel Oc­ca­sion” and tick­ets are avail­able for $50 each at the Gen­try Pub­lic Li­brary, Gen­try City Hall and the Gen­try Cham­ber of Com­merce. Tick­ets may also be or­dered, and do­na­tions sent by mail to Gen­try Pub­lic Li­brary As­so­ci­a­tion, 105 East Main Street, Gen­try, AR 72734 or by call­ing 479-479-841-6172. An out­door movie and bon­fire are planned at Gen­try First As­sem­bly of God on Satur­day, Nov. 17, from 5 to 9 p.m. Free hot din­ners will be served, be­gin­ning at 5 p.m. Hot choco­late will also be avail­able. The movie will be “I Can Only Imag­ine” and will be shown on a large, out­door movie screen. Bring lawn chairs and blan­kets. The event is open to the com­mu­nity. In case of bad weather, the event will be moved in­doors.

The Gravette Com­mu­nity free Thanks­giv­ing din­ner will be held Satur­day, Nov. 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the cafe­te­ria at Gravette High School. The event is spon­sored by area churches and busi­nesses.

Fel­low­ship Full Gospel Church in De­catur will have a hat and glove give­away from 9 a.m. un­til noon on Satur­day, Nov. 17, at the De­catur Train De­pot as a way to help keep the com­mu­nity warm this win­ter. Hats and gloves will be avail­able for men and women, as well as chil­dren and teenagers. The only re­quire­ment to re­ceive a hat or pair of gloves is to show up at the des­ig­nated time and place.

The Gen­try Com­mu­nity Thanks­giv­ing Ser­vice will be held at 6 p.m. on Sun­day, Nov. 18, at the Spring­town Chris­tian Fel­low­ship Church. Ed­die Knight, First Bap­tist Church pas­tor, will be the fea­tured speaker.

A blood drive will be held at Gravette High School from 8:30 a.m. un­til 1:30 p.m. on Tues­day, Nov. 20. The Amer­i­can Red Cross Blood Drive will be held in the HOSA Lab, Room 153, at Gravette High School.
