Gravette Li­ons fall to Ea­gles, Wolves

GRAVETTE — The Li­ons just couldn’t score in the first quar­ter of their game against the vis­it­ing Huntsville Ea­gles. And though they fought their way back from a huge deficit, they weren’t able to soar above the Ea­gles in their 61-56 loss on Fri­day in Lion Field­house.

The Ea­gles claimed the win in 4A-1 Con­fer­ence ac­tion Fri­day night as Beau Welchel scorched the nets for 35 points. Sean McCone added 16 for Huntsville.

Jake Carver and Chance Austin scored 12 each for Gravette.

Lin­coln 62 Gravette 52

In an away game at Lin­coln on Nov. 27, the Li­ons came up short against the Wolves, 62-52. Though the Li­ons played a strong fourth quar­ter, scor­ing 20 points, the dam­age had been done and it was too lit­tle too late.

Bray­den Trem­bly led the Li­ons in scor­ing with 15 points. Isaac Grif­fith had 12 and Jake Carver had nine.
