Lady Lions down Lady Eagles on Friday

GRAVETTE — The Lady Lions (2-2) jumped ahead of the visiting Lady Eagles from Huntsville early in the game, outscoring the Huntsville girls, 21-5, in the opening quarter. Though Huntsville closed the gap to seven points in the second quarter, Gravette went on to win the Friday night conference game, 51-37.

Shylee Morrison led the Lady Lions in scoring with 16 points, 14 of those in the first half. Gabbi Scott hit a threepoint­er in the opening quarter and then picked up another 12 in the second half for the Lady Lions.

Josie Sisk had 10 points to lead Huntsville (2-4).

Lincoln 59 Gravette 40

In an away game against Lincoln on Nov. 27, the Lady Lions came up short, dropping the game, 59-40.

According to scoring informatio­n posted to MaxPreps, the Lady Lions jumped ahead in the first quarter, 12-4, but allowed the Lady Wolves to score 20 points in the second half to take the lead, 24-20, at the break.

Lincoln then outscored the Gravette girls, 35-20, in the second half to take the win.
