DECATUR — Students and teachers worked for several days to get their classroom doors decorated and ready for judging in the Winter Door Decorating Contest at Decatur High School Dec. 17.

The theme for this event was either a winter wonderland scene or holiday setting. One criterion for this contest was that the teachers and students had to work together to design and decorate their entrance doorways.

The doors were judged in four categories, including creativity, student participation, holiday/winter theme, and impression. In each category, a total of four points was possible, with 16 being a perfect score.

Taking first place was Daniel Meyers’ class with its Winter Wonderland Theme display, followed by the Snowman display by Allie Wood’s class.
