Two will vie for queen ti­tle in Gen­try at Fri­day cer­e­monies

GEN­TRY — Gen­try High School se­niors Jay­don Jar­na­gan and Madi­son Ward will be vy­ing for the ti­tle of queen at Gen­try’s bas­ket­ball corona­tion cer­e­monies on Fri­day night. The crown­ing cer­e­monies are sched­uled for 5:15 p.m. in the gym­na­sium at Gen­try High School.

In ad­di­tion to the two se­niors, other maids par­tic­i­pat­ing in­clude ju­nior maids Kin­ley Hays, Rae­gan Jude, Ariel Nix, Meledy Owens, Ahrya Red­ing and Heidi Vinson; sopho­more maids Randi Jo Bolinger, Alexis Fowler, Ashlyn Lit­tle, Halle Reid, Cameron Thor­burn, Emily Toland, Darien Welch and Jaiden Wil­moth; and kinder­garten mas­cots Sakari Han­son and Cooper Hil­lis.

The theme for this year’s fes­tiv­i­ties is a mu­sic theme, “We Got the Beat.” Students have been par­tic­i­pat­ing in dress-up days through­out the week.

A pep rally is also planned for 2:15 in the gym on Fri­day.

The Pioneers will play the Prairie Grove Tigers, fol­low­ing corona­tion cer­e­monies at 6 p.m. The Lady Pi­o­neer game will fol­low.
