CENTERTON — The second half of the 201819 season opened on a sour note for the Decatur Bulldog boys’ basketball team Jan. 8 when the team faced Life Way Christian Academy in the gym at First Baptist Church of Centerton. By the end of the 32 minutes of play, the Bulldogs suffered yet another loss, by 29 points, to the Warriors.

The last time the Decatur Bulldogs caulked up a win was the final game of 2018 against the Exeter Tigers.

From the opening tipoff, the Warriors took command of the contest, holding the Bulldogs to only eight points in the first quarter and three points in the second, all the while having one of their best first-quarter starts in a long time, hitting 26 points and handing the Bulldogs an 18 point deficit going into the next quarter of play.

Decatur picked up the pace in the second quarter, holding the Warriors to 10, but the Bulldogs were unable to knock anything down on the boards, which allowed the Warriors to increase their lead to 24 point at halftime.

The Bulldogs tried to catch up in the second half but the damage was already done. The Life Way Warriors walked away with the victory, 60-31, over the Decatur Bulldogs.

Leading the scoring drive for the Bulldogs was Ryan Ross with 10, followed by Kelvin Moreno with eight, Tafari James with seven, Jose Rubi with four and Conner Sutton with two.
