Gravette grads honored at afternoon party
GRAVETTE — Four members of the Gravette High School Class of 2020 were honored at a party Saturday afternoon, July 11, preceding their graduation ceremony which was to be held that evening. Tabitha Crawley, Emma Davis, Cody Funk and Valry Rodine enjoyed the festivities at the event, held in the Gravette Community Room across from the museum complex.
Tables were covered with tablecloths that said “Congrats Grad” and decorated with Class of 2020 memorabilia. Orange, black and white balloons floated overhead and puffy gold “2020” letters decorated the fireplace mantel. A large poster on the wall, decorated with congratulatory messages, provided a photo background. Separate tables designated for each graduate featured photos of the students and slots where guests could insert cards or notes to each one.
A delicious buffet meal was served, featuring smoked pork and brisket, hot wings, baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw
and green salad, chips and dip, a variety of cupcakes, lemonade and iced tea.
Several friends and family members attended, savored the meal and enjoyed photographing the grads and watching them open their gifts and cards.
The 2020 GHS graduation ceremony was postponed to 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon in Lion Stadium due to stormy weather on Saturday evening.
