James Orville Holland

James Orville Holland, 72, of Gravette, died July 9, 2022, at Ozarks Community Hospital.

He was born Sept. 27, 1949, in Saint Joseph, Mo., to Orville A. and Fern (Tittsworth) Holland. He was a 1967 graduate of Easton, Mo., High School and held an associate’s degree in electrical engineerin­g from Johnson County Community College in Kansas City, Mo. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1967 to 1971 as a ground radio communicat­ions equipment repairman. He attained the rank of sergeant and was stationed for a time in the Philippine­s. He worked for Wulfsberg Electronic­s in Overland Park, Kan., and, after moving to Arkansas, operated his own business, JH Remodeling, for almost 30 years. He married Susan Douglas on Aug. 14, 1992, in Gravette.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dorothy “Wezie” Walker; a brother, Dennis Pike; a daughter, Lanessa Holland; and his stepfather, Charles Bennett.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Holland, of the home; a son, Josiah Holland and wife Heather of Gravette; three grandchild­ren, A.J. (Jadyn) Holland of San Antonio, Texas; Alyssa Holland and Matthew Holland, both of Gravette; a sister, Wanda Kay Shaw (Chuck) of Gallatin, Mo.; and two brothers, Donald Pike of St. Joseph, Mo., and Rick Holland (Celia) of Joplin, Mo.

Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at Douglas Cemetery in Highfill.

Cremation arrangemen­ts are by Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Thomas Wayne Wilmoth

Thomas Wayne Wilmoth, 64, died on July 12, 2022.

He was born to Thomas Edward Jr. and Marjorie Wilmoth in Wichita, Kan., on Nov. 11, 1957. He was a graduate of Decatur High School in Decatur in 1975. He had a career in computer science and networking technology, and was employed by Phillips 66. He adored his work family and those he got to connect with over the years. He enjoyed building and working on cars and motors and had a thirst for education and craved constantly to better himself, as well as teach those around him. He was passionate about his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Marjorie Wilmoth; and his brother, Arthur Wilmoth.

He is survived by his sister, Barbara Jean Wilmoth; his children and their spouses, Jason Wilmoth, Michael and Faith Wilmoth, Ashley Wilmoth, and Blake and Candace Purdom; his grandchild­ren, Kyler Wilmoth, Garrett Wilmoth, Haley Wilmoth, Peyton Wilmoth, Hunter Wilmoth and Clayton Purdom.

A celebratio­n of his life and a visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 17, at Wasson Funeral Home. Burial followed at Falling Springs Cemetery in Decatur.

In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to an organizati­on that supports cancer research to continue pursuing the cure for lymphoma.
