Calvin Glen Goodwin, 81, of Decatur, died Aug. 25, 2022, at his home.

He was born June 22, 1941, in Welch, Okla., to Lee Goodwin and Linnie (Riley) Goodwin. He was a longtime member of Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Gentry and was also a Sunday school teacher there. He and his wife Jeannie farmed in Decatur for the past 56 years. In July, they celebrated with family their 61-year anniversar­y. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren, taking them fishing, on fourwheele­r rides and on their first horseback rides.

He was preceded in death by both parents; a brother, Bill; and sisters, Jean and Bertie.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannie of the home; sons, Ken and wife Nancy Goodwin of Decatur, Darren Goodwin of Decatur; granddaugh­ters, Tawny and husband Ryan Sumrall of Decatur, Krystle and husband Juan Gonzalez of Bentonvill­e, Skyler Goodwin of Springdale, Chelsea and Quintin Eden of Gravette; nine great-grandchild­ren; and brother, W.A. Goodwin of Joplin, Mo.

Visitation was held at 1 p.m. on Aug. 29 at Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Gentry. A funeral service followed at 2 p.m. at the church. Burial was at Falling Springs Cemetery in Decatur.
